The AKG C414 XL II was a great decision for us, it does cost more than we wanted to spend but after we purchased it we knew that it was going to be a keeper. When you buy this microphone you will get a really nice hard case with it to carry it in, it also comes with a windscreen and mic clip. With it being so versatile, I know understand why so ...
GREAT SOUND a MUST HAVE for professional engineers. I pull it out every day. We now just keep it in the vocal booth at all times as if we are not feeling good about a mic or we are getting spikes from singers that sometimes just don't have any vocal technique we resort to the AKG 414 and most of the time our problems are solved. I can only sa...
The C414XLII has a feature that will remember the pickup pattern setting so that when you turn it on it will stay the same as it was the last time you used it. I have not seen that on a microphone yet, it is a very advance microphone. All you have to do is put the settings how you want them, then lock them into place and it doesn’t matter if you...
The thing that I like most about it is how well it captures the recording, it can be used to record various type of musical instruments and still capture all the overtones, which I find very importantly in terms of mixing and arranging. Another great features of this product is that it adds some warmth and bite to the vocals that ...
For some vocals, Brass and OH This microphone does a great Job. Also on Pop-piano and Guitar cabinet this is an interesting Microphone. The low end is too confused to use it for classical Music Double Bass or Piano but for Brass it is ok. Not my prefered Microphone but if well used he is usefull for the above mention...
This mic is very flexible and offers a wide frequency range. This is a mic that is top of the line for recording live instruments it really cant get much better than this mic. Sad thing is you will pay for it! This mic will cost you around 1100 dollars or so and that’s if you can find someone who is dumb enough to sell it too you. There is no wa...
While I don't know if it's worth it to seek out this limited edition version of the AKG C 414, if you do come across one it's going to be as good as any out there. I recently had the chance to borrow one of these from a friend to use at my home studio to record percussion and it sounded amazing. I didn't have the chance to try this against any...
The carrying case, pop filter, and shock-mount are all excellent quality. It’s so nice to buy a piece of equipment and get some really high quality useful accessories. If you’re doing voice recording, definitely use the pop filter. They also test every mic and provide you with the actual frequency response of YOUR individual mic! If you are doin...
While I think all of the AKG 414's are pretty close in sound and ability, the AKG C 414 B-XLS is definitely as good as any of them. This is the one that I've used the least amount, as it hasn't been out for nearly as long as the other models. Again, I don't see any difference in sound between this and other 414's, so I'd say to go with whateve...
the AKG C414 is very sleek looking and in my opinion the most versitale in the $1,000 price range. I always heard great things about the C414 so I decided to try it out one day in the studio. Its not become my main vocal mic besides the U87. The AKG C414 versatility is crazy. Has every pick up pattern you can think of. ...
