The previous posts explain very well the principle of a DI box / preamp pedal format copying the lamp.

UTILIZATION
Just enough buttons to not get lost. This avoids the unnecessary. This is not a gas plant, but it was a lot of options with this box.
Level: bah .... level
Blend: combination signal of the amplifier / signal SABDDI. You probably will turn it to the SansAmp thoroughly. It respects enough the sound of your bass.
Treble / Bass: A lot of impact on your sound. Leave the settings in the lower center.
Presence: To cut through the mix, this is the ultimate weapon. This is fabulous.
Drive: Wanted by the hum of the lamp warm. Convincing enough, but much less at frequencies too low. I do not necessarily Sansamp for his drive. Anyway, it brings immediately to its magnitude.
SOUND QUALITY
It boosts your bass very convincingly close to the lamp. She will give a thick enough hallucinating. With a Musicman Stingray 4 string, a drive and a Hartke 3500 is good even with a low tuning.
I do not use it for my bass driver. The EBS Multidrive does it very well.
The knob presence is very useful. A good way to upgrade your amp.
I use it as a preamp for this purpose.
I do not know what it's like what comes out of the DI.
