All user reviews for the Fulltone Bass-Drive Mosfet

This is my overdrive pedal: the fulltone bass drive, mosfet version. This bass has overdrive knobs volume tone (turning left, more bass, turn right more acute. Overdrive button and a button to adjust the boost (for an even more aggressive with more gain). compcut A switch that boosts the signal light. A fm mode for a richer medium and treble. A medium rich in vintage fashion and a little less treble. Finally a way for imitation mosfet amp lamps with more growl has the key.

UTILIZATION

It is very intuitive, it is sufficient to rely on his ears.

SOUND QUALITY

This is a super light overdrive crunch from the dirty distortion (less extreme, however, that some od dedicated to metal style darkglass). Bass do not go to the door, a separate bass and trebble adjustment would have been nicer.
The sound is warm and the highs are not aggressive (which annoyed me with the boss odb3). Compcut mode makes the effect much more susceptible to attack the strings, is approached in the spirit of some amps overdrive function.

OVERALL OPINION

It's all good and it is without regrets take the place of my boss odb3 (which I found too aggressive in the treble when the gain was pushed). I love its versatility, the hot side depending on the mode selected, the growl provided by the mosfet, the nasty side provided by the boost. I'd like to try it with a power supply 18 volt.Dommage it is no longer produced, but occaze it is a good option for those looking for a od to do everything. Lately I have coupled to my big muff and it is possible to obtain its really bad!

In short, I plugged my Fender P Japan, climbs with ropes almost new Black Beauty, live in the Fulltone, itself directly into my sound card (M-Audio FW410: not the top hi ' fi 'but quite correct).

For prciser: This is a copy BassDrive DIFFERENT from that classic is a "BassDrive Mosfet". It has few options supplmentaires:
- A switch "CompCut" (compression clarity cuts like a lamp) / "FM" (grain Modern Overdrive) / "Vintage" (OD Grain vintage)
- Another switch "Mosfet" / "Standard".
I made some samples for testing DIFFERENT modes (except "standard", which must match the classic pedals, but there's no shit, though still good, it gn generally a little worse, so I did everything in Mosfet mode ... and too bad for the others!: b).

I will then mail a file from the first "direct", another good pass in the trs simultaneously Ampeg NI (SVX) to imagine a history made live (Tte: SVT4Pro, baffle: 410HLF, hair background-rverb to silent as if in "the room" -> config a fairly standard story of not taking a hardware sotrique).

Galis I grosso modo, the output levels of all samples so that there is no effect of attracting the attention of the above. It is then necessary that all the same not only how "boost", but also how "compcut" sacrment make up the output level, must be REALLY careful.

OverDrive Bass. This is the version I MosFet.
Different settings: gain (and has margin ...), tone, drive, boost.
The boost is activated with a foot switch, you set its intensity with the volume pot.

Then 2 small switches modes of action
CompCut (compression without distortion I think), FM, Vintage.
Standard MOSFET.

SOUND QUALITY

I was looking for a long drive, which is dirty and hot. Everything I tried before was either very cold and aggressive clean and content.
This one it sounds a bit disgusting, garage and everything. Vintage mode back mediums, and there is mortal.
I use it with a JazzBass, microphones Classic60's, and it's really a sound I love.

OVERALL OPINION

6 months of use.
A little expensive, but frankly, nothing comparable up there (I even tried a drive tube EBS, it happens to him not to ankle).
The +: sound described above
The -: a little expensive. One knob tone, I would have liked a set bass / treble separately. Difficult to find in France (not imported, an opportunity from time to time ...).

If I had the choice again I throw myself over.
