This is the Ultrabass BX4500H bass head by Behringer. Price point you are probably thinking 'Wow this is great' In this case 'Buy nice or buy twice' rings true.

I must say Behringer has an excellent customer service department, but I would suggest saving a little extra to buy a better amp.

My predicament was, let a nice bass amp sit in my car for 8 hours in the city while I work and lug it up and down steps by chance it doesn't get stolen from my car or buy a cheaper rig and leave it at my practice space.

That is why I ordered the Behringer. $250.

That is why I ordered the Behringer. $250.

It offers you plenty of options in the preamp. The knobs are: Gain, Ultra Bass, Bass, Mid, Treble, Contour, Shape, Output and the front mounted DI out.

The sound was never call your friends over good, but I was able to cut over a 4-piece rock group.

The clip meter on the front is just about useless. Mine never really worked right, but hey who cares.

Within 90 days of owning the thing it overheated just from normal use. I wasn't really maxing it either. I ran the gain at 3 o'clock hoping to get a little grit and then my output was around 10 o'clock.

It was mounted in a carpeted box. Weight was reasonable.

Every company lets a few duds out of the factory and maybe that was what mine was. I called customer support when mine over heated and they set me up with a new amp in a timely fashion.

Bass player since 1966.(15 yrs old!)
Played all sorts of styles since then.
    60's pop,70's rock,80's glam.

Weeks of internet/forum research.Decided to ignore "snobs" comments about Ashdown copy
& bought the Head, 1x15 Cab & 2x10 Cab for under £500 incl delivery.Gear arrived in 3 days. You simply can't beat that for a full stack.
Bought via the Internet from GAK (UK)

    Price! Price! Price!
The gear also looks good.It does look similar to Ashdown, what's wrong with that?
I got the full stack for the price of an Ashdown head.

Plenty of power,& once you get used to the EQ section, loads of tonal variations via the SHAPE control. The cabs don't break your back either.

The Ultrabass function doesn't impress me, so I never use it.I wish Behringer would replace this with Compression control.
I rated this amp 4 out of 5 because it didn't have Compression control.
Regarding the cabinets....you don't have any control over the Tweeters. They are either On or Off (via a switch)
Too drastic sometimes, so a pot would be better.
Master volume pot is way too sensitive.
Would prefer it to be "notched" like Trace Elliot amp.Sometimes you need a quick tweak so you have to be careful with this pot.

Top marks for construction & quality.
1 year using it. No complaints here.

Apart from no compression control & the sensitive master volume, I can't fault this gear considering the price.

Bass player for 32 years. Playing locally though I've been in a couple of signed bands and toured the U.S. Pop alternative is what I'm listening to primarily now.

Bought the BX4500H at Guitar Center for $250 on credit card. I was in search of the ever elusive, "Magic Tone"

Can't beat the price or the tone, now that Behringer solved the noise problems on these units. I tried a couple units on opposite ends of town and, NOISE. Got a much newer unit and, perfect!!

Right now I can't think of a single thing I don't like about this unit. I've only had the unit for about 2 hours. I plan to use it tonight on a gig.

I don't know how Behringer does it with their products for the price. I've owned several Ampegs, SWR, Acoustic, Marshall, currently own a Gallien-Krueger. This thing sounds like an Ashdown bass head but for 1/4 of the price!! For me, Behringer hit this one out of the park!!

-I use it for one month and no problems.

-The better the price, the less is the weight with the enclosure when to climb stairs.

-No, I have chosen over the price because I am limited financially and I did not expect to have a good sound the same.

-Value / price to be seen how long it will take but I think the good quality despite the price.

I probably do it again-this choice.

    OVERALL OPINION

I tested this amp from a vendor and a friend's house, which can be a good idea. I jou it with my bass: Squier a PB. The head connects to a silent home aluminum baffle 4x10 Behringer precisely.

I prcise that the baffle is furiously thinking a Behringer Hartke, in terms of look like her: a slap in the mdiums. I think a more appropriate one lover funky slap that a fan of Motorhead and punk-rock like me. I'll have to retry with a 15-inch to bring out the bass and the "fat" of the amp.

The head is reminiscent of an Ashdown amp: same knobs and a VU prsence nitre (dcoratif more useful). But the sound is not as vintage less bright trigger function. Apart from that the sound is plutt think the Hartke or Peavey: own (I got too), with a slam in the CT mdiums (4x10 aluminum but has a lot to ).

A salesman assured me that the firm had Behringer amlior its reliability and its lookout bass amp going to the BX300 BX450. I knew the brand for its dj microphones, mixers and PA speakers, and it's "good not too expensive." For that we go head to carrment trs cheap: 350 euro and 100 Toulouse under parat it in Germany.

For me it is clear: one or two tests with a 15-inch cabinet or a 2x10 "box" instead of aluminum. Function bright background. And if a glue always have a good big sound fawn vintage Ampeg, Mesa Boogie and Ashdown that price, I take the plunge.

The 450W on paper never go out, the sound is a bit low for a 450W and pushes high volume of grsillements appear endless.

The fan is loud enough and it drengeant. The overall sound is trs blah indeed missing potato, a large volume grsille for résumé sound is simply ugly.

    OVERALL OPINION

For a budget may be suitable for some time. But if you are trs demanding your sound, go your way the head is not worth the trouble.
Actually since I tried the head Markbasse LMII I fell in love and my head is that Behringer me trs little (and right now at all).
For the report quality price goes, there's the same when at the end.

With exprience, I think I'd wait a while to SAVE not to pass on this Behringer head.

For bassists express go your way but for beginners, a little pass (and yet) !!!!!!

On a small 12-inch largebande to play softly with the octave was almost acceptable ...

    SOUNDS

It is confusing, as coming from the depths of the cellar, zero dynamics, definition absent, difficult to hear what we do really with this amp.
In addition, it sounds so Raplapla that mounts the volume in the hope that something happens and then what happens is ... a limiter that sets off alone. Which suits the situation of course! Like what it could sound even less ...

I regret not being able to try a SansAmp bass right in the return loop, which would have allowed us to identify the culprit (preamp or amp total).
I have the distinct impression that nothing would do, hopeless cases.

    OVERALL OPINION

Terrible! Complete lie, too expensive for the crap that is (still reliable after various forums), especially not only buy this amp.
I think a SansAmp amp plus a sound system (it can be found for less beefy 200euros) is a better investment, for a price and an equal weight.
The only consolation, through the din of its product descriptions Bebert I easily sold my amp. PHEW!
Marshall MB30 has a sound quality that will never Bébert. And you can even a driver amplifier with sound, by the way! That's my advice for cheap, and left the tower and the amp sound to local while MB30 made the round trip with the bass at home, versatile and always better than Bebert. Porcaro from Toto made this plan with a SansAmp elsewhere, and I never found it lacking in its ...
