Small diaphragm condenser microphone from Telefunken Elektroakustik

Telefunken Elektroakustik officially introduced at AES 2014 their first FET-based condenser microphone, the M60.

Telefunken informed us a few months back that they were working on this M60 microphone when our team visited their german factory (you can read the interview here). Though the M60 will only be available in January, 2015, they made a first official presentation last weekend at AES in Los Angeles.

The M60 is Telefunken’s first small diaphragm condenser microphone using a solid-state FET circuit. It includes a Class A discrete amplifier, a custom American-made output transformer and offers a frequency response ranging from 20Hz up to 50kHz (± 2dB).

The M60 features the same interchangeable TK6x capsule system as the ELA M 260 small diaphragm microphone, so you can choose between the TK60 cardioid, TK61 omnidirectional and TK62 hypercardioid capsules. Telefunken will also offer amp and capsule packs for stereo use.
