Yamaha 02R

The Yamaha O2R is a digital recording console that comes in two different versions, version 1 and version 2. I am not 100 percent sure about version 1 but version 2 comes loaded with some top notch features right out of the box. The O2R has touch fader editing and it will let your fader be changed just by moving it, you can do this by changing some of the options on the preferences menus. This console also comes with a MIDI remote and fader grouping.

UTILIZATION

Using the Yamaha O2R will not be the easiest console that you have used. It will take some time to understand everything and get the flow of the board down. If you are willing to pay a lot of money for this console then you should take the time to read through the manual thoroughly so you will learn everything the first time you start using it and don’t waste time just taking the trial and error approach.

SOUNDS

Recording with this console is all 24 bit, it uses two tracks per channel and a single track place can output 1, 2, 3 or even 4 channels. This console also has a talkback feature built into it. You can complete a whole project with the O2R alone and do not need anything else. That is what makes it so valuable, but I am not too sold on how “portable” they claim it to be. I would not want to lug this around with me anywhere.

OVERALL OPINION

This console has 24 analog inputs and 16 digital inputs, you will have more than enough inputs to get all of your sound sources and gear running through it. The interface is very usable once you take the time to understand it. It does have a small LCD screen that makes it easy to navigate and find your way through the numerous menus and sub menus. I am not sure if they still make this model though, as I have heard that they may have retired it.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and I am not the bottom of it all ... It has many functions and quite SPECIFICATIONS INTERESTED trs but it does look (in the manual ...) that when they are needed.
I highly recommend this console to the studio because it can be connected directly with the computer (via an Additional Card TDIF), but it is unusable for live access to your page lost time and lost by Ractive (eg in case of problem, time to get the page it is too late dj)
Submitted this console all the same to be the solution avanage Vitantis complete the purchase of many external racks (compression, gates, effects ...)

UTILIZATION

It is a versatile console trs and I remember may be some who have forgotten, but the R 02 when it was released in 1996-97 if my memory is good has an effect rel ad. The bomb is numrique many other manufacturers have been inspired. I in no way compare with other models that little jewels of technology. Let us put things in perspective.

The R 02 is both a pro console. and home studio due to its ease of use.
the automix, total recall, the memory scnes are simply pure wonders confrent use it for both scne for the studio.
I read that each access to dynamic menu silent long!. pressing dynamic is accessed directly! and eq are directly accessible via the console. the manual is a pure clear.
My favorite was the very large t dballage this beautiful lady and I just never defer.

SOUNDS

The converters are well made and dynamic is the appointment in analog or ADAT. effects are those emprumpts by a .40 r3 Pro (bus STREO) dynamics processors (comp, gate, exp ...) who do their work. parametric EQ on each slice that meets the signal. 2 multi-effects. routing on the back pat! a section of the control room !..... etc provided a sound. 02 R sound. never mimics scabies.

OVERALL OPINION

I use the R 02 prs since age 7. what I like most about this console is its FLEXIBILITY, its faders motoriss raligner who come to each new user. configuration recordable. the automix. but happiness. for those who come to compare his pramp was that of a ssl or neve as I have read on this site, which boasts console in this price range to be compared with such bx (ref ssl site and prices for sony!).
if I had the choice again I would do without hsitations! especially as for work at 24-bit/96kHz Just go through apogee and you're jou!

Hey, long time ago that I wanted to post O2R.

I have a small configuration that goes a Behringer MX 8000 for recording on the choice Akai DR-16 and / or station with MOTU 2408 Info. (The sound quality quite suitable for me)
I use the Yam (+ 2 maps + 2 ADAT cards T-dif) for mixing with a premix made with a Mackie Control Universal.
This gives me the advantage of digital and analog.

Do not be fooled but many groups have made tubes with much less stuff.
Convos then to 100,000 bales this must surely work better but when we made the zik for fun, well it is useless.
I'm thinking in buying a second for even more flexibility.
I am generally quite satisfied it is now about 2 years I use this choice I would do without any problems (because the console to the advantage of being reliable)
So now feel free not seen the price treat yourself and go to digital
