Korg D-1200

I use this machine at college for all my recording needs. It has the optional extra of a CD burner. I use this all the time. It is very handy when i need to take my work home and edit it on a PC.

This unit has it all. The sound quality is amazing. With professional mic's a band could record an album on here no trouble. Its very easy to use.

There are a few problems with the unit. The first one to my knowlage is that you can only record 4 tracks at once. But you can record loads if you record them 1 at a time. And the second is a problem with the design of the unit. If you accidentally unplug the unit or there is a power cut after a recording, all data from the last time you truned the machine on will be lost. The machine has to be turned off to save the data. And the last is, when you have recorded many songs, you have to remix all the tracks again because it doesnt save the sound levels.

This machine is built well. All the controls and buttons are very durable.

This machine is really good. It is perfect when it comes to good quality recordings at a affordable price. There are a few set backs, but nothing that should put you off the machine.

I bought a set of Roland V-Session Electronic drums. My partner and I have a digital 24 track studio with an Akai DPS24 as the main unit. I wanted something I could track on with my new drums while I wasn't in the studio sp I went hunting. First I looked at smaller pieces 4-6 track, then was turned on to the D12 and D1200. The D1200 has more things that I needed like a USB output for backup and storing to another PC or external CDR/RW.
I paid $850 because I was sold a D12 that was supposed to be new and wasn't so the store made up for it by reducing the price of the D1200 which was the unit I wanted anyway.

This 12 track digital recorder is so easy to use that I didn't even need a manual for my first song. You will need it later to use the multitude of great features it has but not because they are hard to use, but because the first time around you need to find out (in my case) what certain things were. The sound quality is astoundingly accurate. Its 16/24 bit and can record at 44mhz. I can output wave files to my pc for further tinkering but none is needed. I can do everything on this machine. Even let it do the drum tracks which I can play and record too or add too. Too many great features to list..it does it all. Tailored for the guitarist song writer it works great for a drummer goofing around with ideas.

The only thing I don't like is some parts of the manual that don't fully explain what certain things-namely effects sends and stuff like that are for...I'm new to engineering and don't know all the terminology yet. Beside that nothnig else is bad. Its a fabulous deal.

Great quality, 40 gig hard drive and optional CDr/RW. Feels great, not cheap, aesthetically excellent.

Buy one, save yoour money and buy one. Everyone I have spoken to that has one loves it. No one finds any shortcomings at all. I play drums and goof around, imagine if your band had one.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use.

When will the notice paper in French ?????

I am above all a bluff by the overall performance of the product. The ergonomics are perfect and organizes Manir squentielle (look at the faade srigraphie suprieure).

The blue LCD screen can display enough info and navigating the menus is easy.
The software is fashionable laptop with softphone + icons + text parameter.
Saw the guitar tuner.

SOUNDS

Trs good quality audio converters.

Otherwise, the effects are rverbs trs good with a certain purity.

The effects are many trs. There is something for all tastes (chorus, distortion, rverb). What is a fawn's more than adequate.

The only guitars BMOL the effects that are not up to my or my POD 2 POD XT. The saturated seem a little electrical and cold. Not really possible to make a clear sound of Fender or Vox ...

I mean the illusion that the sound trs 'pro' will be given by external units (PODxt, rverb lexicon ...) but the I Motes.
It yammer simulator crack like vinyl disk (45/33 laps ... choice)! Nice

Simulators and microphones are INTERESTED drastically alter his capt.

The box allows you to program trs pace a bit faster pace from 255 (rock, motown, salsa, techno ,...) and the signing of the tempo (4 / 4 ...). Its quality is good no more. The sound of the bass drum is (too) large, the cymbals are not the most sintillantes as the snare.

I import rate via MIDI files to WAVE 2 tracks (Stereo).

It is above all that we INTERESTED. Well the sound quality is really excellent ultra Fidler said that the original neutral trs. This is what I wanted. The dynamic is the appointment.
Whether it's on my hi-fi or audiophile headphones, it's all good.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought the D1200 beginners since December 2002.
A Euro 1390 with the drive (also that Pigale!) Is a bargain.
Despite the plastic toy is a trs trs trs good camera complete.
Lots of possibilities ...

I have not used the D12 (D1200's ancestor), but progress is flagrands: large 40GB hard drive instead of 12, USB port, XLR food 48 volts.
I compared the SPECIFICATIONS and documents of two aappareils. In fact, the D1200 appears to be a good trs updating the D12 plutt that a completely new device.

To finish:
beautiful blue screen tilting 45!

I love:
- The ergonomics of the D1200
- USB port
- Import / export can be a WAVE

UTILIZATION

Yesterday I bought a lot of things already done (it is true that before I had a korg d8 ... but it's even different) and functions have always been looking for find very fast and trouble free operation.
A report capabilities using quite EXCEPTIONAL!
Big problem for me dealing with the effects:
I understand how to use them technically, but the musical effect is difficult to manage many parameters and naming that difficult to understand "air presence, limited compressor, NR, the amp simulations etc. ...", all that the manual does not explain anything on this.
As I said in the forum, though some sites are experiencing same or have them made fine adjustments to achieve a particular sound I'm interested!
But this is a problem of the user. For insta, t I keep this note!

OVERALL OPINION

Excellent value for money (1390 with burner) in my opinion even if I have no point of comparison from the d8 and information taken from the AW16G seems less easy to use.
