Winter NAMM 2012 News
I've first used the Yamaha AW4416 multi-track recorder about five years ago and for the time I used it, it worked very well for what I wanted to do with it. This day and age I wouldn't recommend trying to edit audio on this machine, but there are a lot of capabilities that come with the fact that this is fairly easy to bring around. If you are l...
I just bought it and I already love it. It's great to mix with this device. I like everything about it and I find it much better than a Roland or an Akai. Unbeatable value for money!!! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again even if it were more expensive. It's fun to make music: no headaches, no system crashes...
When I was a kid, we had to record on four track cassette, and even that seemed like a gift from god. This thing is so much better. As computer stuff gets better, and the AW16G gets older, it seems less and less state of the art, but it's still the best scratch pad I can imaging. I don't use it for "serious" recording projects anymore,...
If it were a more expensive it would be nothing to call home about but for a little over a grand this machine has out performed all expectations. I would expect to pay closer to 2 grand for a machine with these capabalities. If something happened I would definitely replace it. Originally posted on FutureProducers.com Posted by...
Basically, Yamaha hit it on da head with this one!!! I have their QY70, and SU200 phrase sampler. Together with those two unit and the AW2816, I'll outdo anybody musically. I don't care if you have an MPC or anything, I'll top it! Originally posted on FutureProducers.com Posted by: Unknown ( 5-, 2002)

Reserved undemanding fans and allergic IT. Just okay for models ... or albums prtention without sound or spectral dynamics.
It exudes quality. It's solid. A safe bet in the area despite the absence of what seems important today in terms of communication with the outside world (usb, firewire), but ... it's a (good) machine from another time.
Do not miss some knowledge in the home studio can help, but the menu is simple and clear.
It is no longer for sale but merely by the sound quailté it surpasses the Korg D3200 (and D1200).
