How long have you use it?
I used the HDJ-500 for a while before returning to the Pioneer HDJ-1000 that listening is more suitable for DJing and studio.

Have you tried many other models before buying it?
I tried Pioneer HDJ-1000 Pioneer HDJ 2000, Denon DN-HP 1000, SRH550DJ Shure, AKG K181 DJ, Skullcandy SK Pro DJ, Monster Beats Studio, Panasonic RP-DJ600, headphones and some really rotten that I do not quote the name.

What is so special that you love the most, least?
The most attractive feature is its look and good finish: it's a nice headphone, defect-free cosmetics.
The characteristics are the least satisfactory
- Pads headphones: too rigid to crash like the HDJ-1000, they press too much on the ears without completely isolating from the outside,
- The lack of backbone on the headphones: a true DJ headphones at least two 2-axis, a pivot 180 degrees on two headphones, and a 90 ° rotation of the feet of headphones. None of this with the HDJ-500 has a single pivot 90 °, and a single receiver, so we can not return the receiver, and the pivot 90 degrees only works on one of only two headphones.

The absence of rotations makes headphones HDJ-500 headphones for stereo or portable, but not a DJ headphones (no more than a DJ Monster Beats Studio).

How would you rate the quality / price?
By replacing the pads for headphones soft ear pads and soft pads instead of the original (pads are on sale
