EKS Otus Expands Native Support
By TonyBruno on 05/06/2009
EKS has announced that Otus now natively supports the following DJ and VJ softwares: Virtual DJ 6, PCDJ, DJDecks and Resolume.
In addition, Otus has been designated "Traktor Ready" by Native Instruments and is fully compatible with Traktor Pro and Traktor 3.

Native support now allows users to more easily sync their favorite DJ or VJ software with EKS' Otus, according to EKS. Native support of Virtual DJ 6 now means that Otus offers HID support that results in less latency, which supposedly delivers improved scratching functionality, for example.

EKS' Otus software updates are available now for download at: eks.fi/index2.php?p=support&o=Otus

[Musikmesse] EKS OTUS
By kon-tiki on 03/18/2008
The Finnish company EKS presented Otus, their next generation digital DJ controller.
According to EKS, Otus is a professional 2-in-1 DJ controller. They tell us that the revolutionary virtual audio technology enables the use of multichannel soundcard inside Otus with different DJ software. This makes it possible for a DJ to play two audio channels simultaneously with just one controller.

Otus is equipped with a big, configurable 7.5” jog wheel and new features for effects control, including touchpad and two motion sensors. Otus also brings you an innovative switch key which enables the DJ to flexibly use two layers of controls. To add more show into the mix, the effect controls are placed to make performing more visual.

With the advanced MIDI support and MIDI mappers it will be possible to configure Otus with just about any software application imaginable, be it audio, video or something else altogether, leaving the boundaries to be defined only by the artist’s imagination.

Otus will be available in June.
