I had the version of Cross DJ with u-mix control pro, and I wanted to go to timecode vinyl.
As the u-mix can use his card, so I just update to the worse Cross (version 1.7 at the time) for 60 €.

It is currently 2.5, and it is always on top:
accepts all controllers, and most importantly, ALL the cards!

No worries for the install, it is alone, everything is recognized.

where the software loses 2 is the mapping of LED, it must be the fader hand in the xml mapping file ...
I made a tutorial (which can easily be found with the search function), the galley was first but then it just comes!

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

config for my PC, it is in the first field.

For configs, this is at the top, it works in timecode or only with a controller, and especially with the HID CDJ is HEAVY DUTY!

You plug the USB Platoche, and two clicks on the CDJ you end up controlling Cross, 5min both drives are connected and you can mix!
Just remember to download the ASIO driver can "merge" the two soundcards CDJ.

The thing, the browser is excellent, you can "attach" anything you want in the Quick Access Toolbar, folder, playlist ...

OVERALL OPINION

So I use it for 2 years now, I tried VDJ (yuck) and Traktor and Serato recently.

What I like:
-Accepts all controllers
-Supports all sound cards
-HID with CDJ

I rechoisirais this app without hesitation!

I bought CROSS to mix with timecode CD club. I preferred to Serato or Traktor interface for the proper management of the database onnée and also because it is a soft French.

I play mainly on the material Pioneer club. The new version that incorporates the HID can mix with just the computer that branch USB CDJ. All features are implemented on top. It is a pleasure.

Mixvibes also developed Rekordbox (the soft base management given for Pioneer turntables). As a media management is particularly well managed CROSS.

OVERALL OPINION

This is an app I would recommend to any kind of DJ beginner, amateur or professional especially if they use paltines Pioneer.

The ability to mix real vinyls and mp3 (in timecode or not), hit the vinyl, the carefully designed interface, price, quality of sound, free updates! That the competitors is not case! therefore not only a political standpoint business makes you want to switch to this app made in France more ... See below dessus.Nickel no latency or other so universal bug.Integration twelve o'clock with my 2 kontrol x1 soucils not one with a physical control samplers perfect for turntables with similar config.

OVERALL OPINION

I'm on this app since version 1.2.J have already tested Torq (well it works ...) and Traktor (top certe but more expensive, mixvibes pro ... I say that with more posibilities and enjoying better marketing ... especially snobbery ... probably a bit too) and other serato never touché.Bon for Mixvibes Cross, soft and very good with version 2.1 THIS IS THE TOP OF 2 players + 2 samplers of 8 tracks each, a dozen effects vraiments not bad for the most part, several locators and other cue points, loop up to 32 times, independent sample banks etc ... only downside there is no 4 outputs on the map original sound (U46MK2) after it is typed questions to gouts.Mixvibes strong with this update on a soft high quality at the base in the next versions I expect the worst I remake this choice without hesitation!

OVERALL OPINION

CROSS since I'm on version 1.0.5, this software is gaining in performance and stability chque update, Highly recommended for Mac or PC.

a MUST

DJ at the old (vinyl what!) But not "scratcher" I wanted a stable software and not expensive to switch vinyl and mp3. Already owner of MixVibes DVS when I turned on the PC (and that gave me satisfaction), Cross was a logical choice.

Installation without any problem on Mac. Software very simple to implement.
The forum is an excellent complement MixVibes technique if necessary, and monitoring activity is excellent.

Latency good without being amazing, if I try to reduce it too I tap a few crackles (I am currently 11ms). Note that I have not thoroughly tested the latest version of Cross (1.4.0) for lack of time available to me right now. So I did not test the Midi mapping for example.
For me that matters is stability and for the moment it is (time mix for the time being rather short latency and does not drop too). Furthermore I do not scratch (rather mix electronica / rock / techno / ambient) and suddenly I did not have the same level of demand that other DJ.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Mac for 1 year but a dilettante (lack of time available!) And for me the quality / price / service is perfect. In addition it is French (cocorico!), the forum is very active so the problem quickly screened.
I only use the Timecode, the response is good even if sometimes we regret the excessive presence of the timecode signal low master volume (I explain: the sound of TC means during passage of the head on the furrow but do not go out in the forums: passive noise).
Latency is high enough at home but do not bother me (I prefer stability). To see other reviews for this most demanding part.
I would put this review up to date when I explored a bit more version 1.4.0 and its new features (including support Midi).
Excellent product

Characteristics that motivated my choice? Uh bah is French and the French once we lay something that stands up to buy!
I was on before I loved Mixvibes and suddenly I kept pace.
Interesting things with this app is that all sound cards ASIO / Core Audio works with unlike competitors. It is of course the number of inputs / outputs adequate.
The only downside for me is managing the impacts, it is 100 times better on Traktor for those who use an external mixer, for others it is moving.
For the rest I have no complaints! Installation

carefree either Mac or PC (but then had some concerns, as with any software).
Then the configuration requires a minimum of knowledge but it's still very simple, we choose its inputs / outputs, Freq. sampling, sample rate, is calibrated with the disks and it works.
The manual? Is there a manual? Sorry but then left for the advanced features of Cubase I have never opened a textbook in my life.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Uh so I just changed but it was on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 RAM on an Asus P5K, hard base in SATA II 7200 RPM, config hair that turned to 0.7 ms latency (48KHz in a Mackie D2 Pro or U46MK2 depending on my mood).

Second config on a Macbook Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz, 2GB DDR2 667MHz ram, base HDD at 5200 rpm, always with the same cards but then I have higher latency, 1.3 ms I think.

These latencies are obtained with version 1.4, mac earlier versions are worse. We are in the 1.5 that I used in beta at the moment so I'd rather not say on the final version as I have not tested.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since its release, I used Mixvibes before, I am the Team since 2005.

So yes I tried Traktor, Serato, Torq, Deckadance and Virtual DJ. Cross remains for me one of the best with Traktor, the others I do not like, especially as a scratcher! Cross is the best on this point. The sound quality is also one of the best with Traktor, I have not tested the latest versions of Serato but at the time the sound of Serato was well below.

Well if I do not know if I will ever choose this because I also like Traktor, but considering the price, if we can not afford to Traktor, knowing that he brings not much else (well, it depends on what the are doing), should darken on Cross your eyes closed, it's a really good app.

PS: I put 9 everywhere but I never put 10 to a software because there is always something that does not appeal. Excellent soft
