    not expensive and solid tones

    Epiphone Songmaker DR-100Published on 03/14/13 at 20:45
The Epiphone DR-100 (Ebony) is a 6 string guitar that has a spruce top and it is mahogany on the sides and back. The fret board is rosewood and the neck is mahogany as well. You can actually purchase this guitar in Natural, Vintage Burst and Mahogany at the same exact price so it comes down to personal preference as far as the color goes.

    UTILIZATION

This guitar is very affordable costing less than 100 dollars and most guitars that I have ever used in this price range are pretty cheaply made and more “toy like” but this DR-100 is the opposite of that. It is built very well to be in this price range the tone is bright and has a lot of energy to it. I would suggest that this guitar …

    UTILIZATION

This guitar is very affordable costing less than 100 dollars and most guitars that I have ever used in this price range are pretty cheaply made and more “toy like” but this DR-100 is the opposite of that. It is built very well to be in this price range the tone is bright and has a lot of energy to it. I would suggest that this guitar is more for the first time user, but the build does not make it feel like a “cheaper” acoustic.

    SOUNDS

This guitar does not come with a case, so that is something to take into consideration before purchasing. There are 20 frets and it has a slime taper neck shape. There are 6 strings and it comes with a tuner. I had this guitar for a while before selling it because I didn’t use it anymore. I sold it to a first time learning musician who wanted something to learn with and I suggested this because of the price and tone.

    OVERALL OPINION

The tone of this guitar is very good for this price range and I would say it should be the main selling point of it. Most people would think the Ebony finish would be the selling point but I say listen to it first before you make a decision. If you can go down to your local store and mess around with it you will hear just how great it sounds and you will want to add it to your collection.

Perfect - A buy eyes closed

(This content has been automatically translated from French)
Chinese manufacturing, mahogany set neck, rosewood fingerboard, mahogany body, spruce top, 20 frets

    UTILIZATION

Handle very nice, the wood of the box does not crate despite the low price. Access to acute is similar to other dreadnough without cutaway
    Importantly, it is the agreement

    SOUNDS

Perfect for folk songs. Arpeggios perfect
Crystal clear sound, bass well represented. Not changed the strings, but with a good game it will be even better
I love playing Seether and other groups live sounding arpeggios easy ;-) and it does it instantaneously

    OVERALL OPINION

    OVERALL OPINION

I just acquire a few days.
After testing Ibanez, Yamaha, Cort and sisters between 130 and 200 €, I also tried the Epiphone Hummingbird (€ 245) and wondered what the difference was with this one. Sound level, I saw nothing, we can blame him finish basic, very simple, although simple but not neglected either.
The bass is very present, and rather acute crystal. Personally, this is what I expected from a dedicated acoustic plaiz me at home.
At this price, you can not find better. I was already convinced Epiphone, once again I am not disappointed.

    Epiphone DR-100

    Epiphone Songmaker DR-100Published on 06/25/04 at 15:00
A few friends and I met some other friends at the Guitar Center on Memorial Day. We were busy oo-ing and ah-ing about the guitars like kids at a toy store, and one of us wanted a Gibson. The store guy offered us 15 months credit cards, and we all felt it was too good to pass up. I'm a beginner, so I didn't want to get anything flashy and expensive. The DR-100 fit the bill at $99.00.

As a beginner, I can't say much except that it sounds great. It's new, so everything about it is nice and clean, no scratches, dents, warps, etc. It's ready to play right off the shelf so that's good, too.

The 6th string has already started giving me trouble. It's the buzzing. Nothing that a new set of strings won't fix.

As I mentioned, there are no dents, scratches, warps, etc. You can tell it was put together well, and the finish is beautiful. It's just a beautiful, simple guitar.

Bottom line, I am proud of my purchase. For a beginner accoustic, it was the best decision I could have made. And it is my prized possession. If the whole apartment went up in flames but the guitar survived, I would hug my guitar and be oblivious to what was going on around me.
