Along with the Creon monitoring controller, SPL will unveil at Musikmesse this month a new bus and mastering 2-channel compressor called Iron.

Though the information is not official yet, The SPL Iron is announced as a “Vari-Mu” inspired two channel (switchable to stereo) compressor: the tube cathode voltage adjusts according to your adjustments, which allows for varying the results and get very subtle compression. Plus, the device features 6 rectifying tubes.

Each channel of the Iron compressor has a threshold, attack, release, input and output level controls, as well as a bias 3-position switch.

It also features two Airbass and Tape Roll Off filters for different timbres and a Sidechain function with 4 filters is also available. Last, each channel has its own VU-meter with 3-way calibration switch.

The SPL Iron has a 19” 3U rack size.
