- Low made in Poland in a violin shop
- 24 frets, two pickups and a Bartolini Jazz OBP3 Aguilar electronics (volume, balance, medium, low / high)
The handle is made of five parts: three mahogany, maple and two nets. The body is amazaque, a cousin of ovangkol found on Thumbs of Warwick. Beautiful wood.
- Bridge ABM Solid black super efficient and the mechanical (Hipshot? To verify) that go with it, still very effective.
- The handle is not too late, and far from being too thick, it is perfect for standard and large hands, suitable for all hands! Excellent comfort.
UTILIZATION
- Channel sweet and pleasant (Mmmhh mahogany)
- Access to the latest good frets
- Ergonomics: nothing to say we are very comfortable on this bass, it certainly is a bit heavy (watch the game sitting, one is tempted to look forward easily).
- All flat and was already a very nice sound.
I put 9 because of the weight.
SOUNDS
- Perfect for music requiring a large presence in the bass. I play funk, jazz swing bop or fusion of Cuban and flamenco and the metal sometimes.
- I play with a Hartke A100 and often on a sound system and other various amps (even the old peavey sounding board) still a big presence and a great sound).
- The sound at the base is heavily wooded, rich in harmonics, always a boost in the low mids (thank you Barto) which gives a stamp when you want bold. Very good tone on stage, a lot of presence.
[mode Jean Louis Foiret] The config JJ can get close to a lot of sounds: the well-wooded and boosted Pastorius, Marcus especially with the new ropes, in short, like all Jazzbass versatile.
However, the treble is not very sensitive due probably to the woods and strengthening micro, themselves, the bass / lower midrange (mahogany, rosewood, amazaque).
Its quite crystalline in the treble. If severe thunder of Zeus!!
- My favorite sound is the two pickups together or DD the bridge only to have all the harmonics and powerful sound in the midrange. Graves thoroughly and often a dose of medium use (with or without percussion as slap or tapping).
I do not like the neck pickup sound, but on all low to config J / J
OVERALL OPINION
- I play for over a year.
- What I like most is its timber, harmonically rich and serious.
I tried an Ibanez BTB, a WW $ $, a WW standard corvette, a Stingray, Fender Jazzbass several U.S. (bah it sounds not this stuff XD!)
Must say that I not try the Mayones tellment the beast is rare (except in basscenter Pâââââris - rue des p% uh £ μμ Pigalle)
- The price last year was super tempting! Less than 1000 euros in the beast 4 strings to the importer, now it appears 1300) Count 1500 euros easier for mine now.
With the experience I turned to a low in his brilliant ash / maple still JJ.
