I'm not a fan of this bass. I think Fender should bump the quality control up a notch and make sure they are making a neck that is actually playable. They could charge $100 more for the same bass with a much better fretjob (and lack of neck bow), and it would be a pretty good instrument. Not recommended.
This bass would be a great beginner bass, or good for someone with smaller stature. I was wanting a full scale bass, so I've got to admit some disappointment, but overall the Jaguar Bass from Squier is still pretty cool.
Overall, it's ok. It would have garnered better reviews from me if the bass had come with a good fretjob from the factory, but I understand that the company is making a very low-cost instrument here, and fretwork labor is one of the first areas that many manufacturers cut. My bass might have just been a fluke on the fretwork, to be honest, but t...
All in all I think the Squier Bronco Bass is a great little tool for the budding bassist, or someone who just needs a smaller instrument. It's easy enough to play, feels great, and has a cool sound due to the short scale and single coil pickup. They run about $150 new which is a fair enough price, though they can be had for less if you buy used....
For the price, this Classic Vibe bass is a great buy. It looks fantastic, it plays great, and the tones that are achievable are vast. For any musician that wants to spend money and do some modifications to it, it can be improved upon to get it performing with the very high-end instruments. But for the cost, I give this a 9 out of a possible 10.
Squier hit a home run with their latest Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified lines. They are basically taking the Squiers and souping them up to fall somewhere in between a regular Squier and a classicly worn Fender. I am the weirdo that hears on the internet that a new model is coming out and I'll stalk all local music stores until i...
Overall, This is a solid bass, the one I got was pretty much perfect, except one of the tuning keys is a little loose, but it doesn't cause it to go out of tune. Nice finish, very smooth, fret work is good, all knobs tight & smooth. The chrome parts are plated so after a few years of steady gigging they may start to look funky, but that's just a gue...
Matt Freeman is the bassist for Rancid. He played his tried and true 70s Fender Precision forever and recently designed a signature model along the lines of the Squier Classic Vibe series. I found the features of this bass appealing; beefy neck, hot pickup, heavy duty bridge and a blonde body on a maple neck. Priced just right at ...
I saw pictures of this that Fender leaked about 6 months in advance. I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of these! There are a few different Squier Jaguar basses; there is a $299 version with the two stacked pots similar to a 60s Fender Jazz bass and then there are three $199 versions, one with a P/J setup, one with a humbucker ...
This is the Vintage Modified Precision TB bass put out by Squier. This is not to be confused with the regular Vintage Modified Precision as I believe the TB stands for Telecaster Bass. You will immediately be able to tell by the looks as the headstock is shaped like a Tele and there is only one fat humbucker in the neck pickup. It...
