Electric violin maker of Czech Tomas Reiter (http://www.electricviolins.eu/index.php), "Classic", 5 strings, customized with varnish (Mr. Reiter did this for free, at least for color as mine ) fitted with ropes Sensicore. Purchased in May 2011 for € 574 including VAT (including postage).

Electric violin with an onboard preamp, volume control, output jack standard.

Mine is customized with a small switch that allows the preamp to by-pass, and so to have the sound "raw" sensor. (If the battery falls stranded in the middle of a concert ...).

Sound: Very good sound for the price!
