Characteristics
- The Event Electronics 20/20 are a set of active studio monitors. They are fairly large, and since they are powered they do not need an external power amplifier. I have used these monitors for listening back and recording in a home studio. I have never used them for mixing, so I can't speak to how well they work for that application, but they have worked well for what I have used them for. They have a pretty basic look to them, and even though they are somewhat big, they aren't extremely heavy and are movable.

Sounds
- The sound quality of the Event Electronics 20/20 monitors is pretty full across the spectrum. They provide a pretty accurate sound and definitely have satisfactory stereo imaging, while the dynamics are accurate and respected. They are fairly large and have a pretty good low end response, which is rare for monitors that are this cheap. Like I stated before, I have only used these for monitoring while recording and they work great for this, but since I have never mixed on these I can't say if they are suitable for this or not.

Overall Opinion
- I've been using the Event Electronics 20/20 studio monitors for about a year and a have found them to be a nice set of studio monitors at an extremely low price. It doesn't get much cheaper than these, and I would even say that they are some of the best monitors you can buy for the price because of the nice response to frequencies all across the board, including the low end. While there are certainly other studio monitors that I would rather use than the Event Electronics 20/20s, nearly all of them are more expensive than these. These monitors are a great choice for the home studio owner, and are certainly worth a look for those who are in the market for a cheap set of studio monitors.

Characteristics
- These monitors kick a$$! Nothing is missing.
Price paid: $800 USD

Sounds
- Sound quality is untouchable for under $1000. They blow the Genelec monitors away.

Overall Opinion
- Plug n play- simple as that.
Perfect for small to mid-sized project studios.
$800 bucks is alot to spend on home studio monitors- so Event gives ya a 3 year warranty on these guys. Very pleased with the monitors and Event tech and sales staff.

Characteristics
- Audio interace, midi interface, digital mixer, control surface all in one...a lot of bang for your buck
Price paid: $600 USD

Utilization
- Manual is very easy to understand, took me about an hour to hook it up and started using it with my computer.
-
Sounds
- I run my drum machines and synths through this and it sounds very clean with plenty of headroom.
-
Overall Opinion
- Seems very sturdy and tough though I dont plan on gigging with it, its gonna stay home as the center of my lil bedroom studio.
I only had it for about 2 weeks and I luv it. No other product gives you so much for so little. I highly recommend it as a standalone mixer or audio interface.

Characteristics
- Most monitors don't have "features" besides a control or two for adjusting for placement.
Price paid: $649 USD

Sounds
- They have a very warm sound. Not harsh at all. They translate well to other playback systems such as car and home stereo systems. The stereo imaging field is very nice. Allows for very accurate panning and sweeps and things that have a lot of movement. I've played all kinds of CD's through them ranging from Gospel, Classical, to R&B and Hip Hop and all were very well represented.

Overall Opinion
- Yes I love them. They are my first pair of pro-type studio monitors and have improved my mixes tremendously. They can shake the house alone without a sub, as well as give you the sweet little naunces that are so hard to hear in other speakers, such as smaller studio monitors or your bookshelf stereo speakers. I've heard the Mackies, Behringer The Truth, Yamaha's new big ones, and of course the Genelecs. Not only are the PS8's great for the money you spend, but they are great monitors period. If you're like me and can't quite afford the Genelecs or Mackies, the PS8's are a steal. The Behringer Truths were harsh sounding and unatural to me. You can get them cheap, but they're new at this studio monitor thing and have some work to do before they can claim to be on Mackies level. Or even on the PS8's level for that matter. If you can't quite afford the PS8s yet, wait a while til you can get them. I did and I feel like a wiser man because I did wait.

Sounds
- I did my research before I bought a pair of the speakers and it paid off. The sound quality is very good. Also the speakers are true reference so there's no bass boost; thus what you hear is what you get.
-
Overall Opinion
- Very easy to use. Plug in and listen. It took me a while to setup the volume control on the speakers properly so that if the volume on my computer was turned up full blast the speakers would not kill my ears.
They are studio monitors, so handle with care. No problems or repairs ever.
They are speakers not women after all.

Characteristics
- For the price I paid, a separate preamp or something to control the volume and reduce the power-off POP! would've been nice. They sound great across a range of relevant frequencies tho and can handle a lot of energy, which was the reason I got them.
Price paid
$750

Sounds
- I like the sound they give. It's a fairly accurate representation of what I get out of the mixer with headphones, just a lot bigger. Flaws are definitely exposed with these monitors. There's always a better model out there somewhere, but I like what I'm hearing from these Events.
-
Overall Opinion
- Simple to hook up with appropriate wires.
Construction is adequate. I don't move them often because they are heavy.
Compared to an amp and the 10" Bose speakers, I love the Events.

Sounds
- Very nice for the price, only problem is when you blast them super loud they start to give in. And to do this you you must really play it extremely loud, which most of us wont do while we are producing.
-
Overall Opinion
- Plug and play for the monitor speaker genre.
no gigs , straight home studio production.
Im very happy with the performance and the price. The watts could have been a little better though.

Characteristics
- Great features! 150W RMS (!), super flat response, built-in bi-amplifier, etc.
Price paid
$650 for the pair

Sounds
- Superb! strictly for monitoring though. Make sure you also have a consumer-grade hi-fi system in the studio for your non-monitoring needs.

Overall Opinion
- Plug and go
Very good quality. But I had one problem: the day i bought the pair, I tweaked some of the back-controls and two of them bent and got stuck inside the box
I had to open it and bend the control back.... They should put physical knobs there, not just electronic components that are open to the outside.
Love them!
