I chose this sound card for its optical digital inputs and outputs in order to recover without loss catches my minidisc. I use a laptop ASUS, 512MB RAM, centrino 1.6 MHz, and very important: USB 2
I mainly use the line input in the recording of instruments, with a preamp tube in front of or behind a mixing desk.

Note:
_8 Out so fit 5.1 and 7.1
_All the connector is gold plated
_a preamp for a microphone on adjustable wheel
So here are the features:

Signal to Noise Ratio: 102 db
24bits/96 khz converter A / N (one 2-channel stereo input so)
24bits/96 khz converter N / A for the 8 output channels
SPDIF input and output (for digital optical input and an output optical and coax)
Support for SoundFont 2.1 for MIDI playback

For optimal use the USB 2 is required.

UTILIZATION

For the installation, Ancun worry, I have no problems of incompatibility.
The Logitech is very well stocked and everything is very useful: setting levels for each output, bass redirection, surround sound for listening to stereo music in 5.1 or 7.1, management LIBRARY Music by tags, configure the remote to controlling any application, effects caraoké .....
There is also a very powerful audio editor Goldwave type or Wavelab.

GETTING STARTED

The drivers are very stable, I've never had a crash. I chose this card to the quality of sampling (24 bits, 96khz) and I was not disappointed by its A / D converters but I soon also apreciated the amenities of the 8 outputs. Mix a song in 5.1 what happiness.
With the remote, the computer deviend real HIFI is very friendly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 year. Therefore a highly reliable I am very satisfied, I intend to also invest in another card from the same manufacturer as it gained my confidence.
