great for the price of the card. Connection fairly complete.
Buttons to look a bit "plastic" but it's detail.

    UTILIZATION

The unit is fairly stable, the Line 6 website is very well done and offers good support for hardware.

    GETTING STARTED

Operation is simple, take a little practice but in the end it's pretty easy to use.

    OVERALL OPINION

Good material, the software package is, the recognition is correct, the final map filled his role well and can capture the correct instruments.

Sound: I find really beautiful modlisation amps for guitars. For bass and vocals, I have not russi be completely filled. For DIFFERENT effects there is something to please everybody normally (de-esser, compressor, wah, reverb, eq, etc.), but the voice ... I feel like a ceiling. That said, the reverbs are fun.
Latency and operating gnral: the beginners, I t trs concerned about latency in cubase (> 20-30 ms, or if there are pops, if Reduces the size of the memory buffer). In fact, we do not care. Just use the direct monitoring Systm (the choice between what is meant as a monitor is done by soft line6), and the issue of latency does not arise when taking.
Mcanique: after four years there ... say anything. The appearance of the buttons is indniable plastic, but has UX8 plutt fire pace. It is quite difficult because of the dpoussirer granular appearance of metal. I remember taking the USB is quite ticklish. That's it for this: it's good for me.
Line to instruments: It's all good
Pramplis microphones: they are the major weakness of the UX8 must push them to have any background sound, and pousss background .... they blow. We must therefore look for the optimum rglage, a good compromise amplification / breath, a little frustrating.

    GETTING STARTED

    OVERALL OPINION

In a word, I would say that UX8 is practical.
It is still save prt: piano / mic / guitar / bass. Squenceur I run, I choose the routing, and go. It is frankly a good bte, it does not move, once connate limitations.
The report quality price trs correct, because I had all the features I wanted in one box.

    GETTING STARTED

The drivers are ultra stable (as usual), and the sound t much revised up from the UX2 and 1 ... More clear, clean, and wide, particulirement pramplis on microphones that are now as clear as those of the konnekt24 example. Miracle N1: the UX8 synthse is perfect in one unit of my main needs and allows me to spend my carrment mixer. It goes even beyond replaceable in my VAMP2 also thanks the modlisation intgre amp. I now have an office DGIG and a lot of stuff recycle (sound card, mixer, vamp).

    UTILIZATION

Installation fairly easy thanks to the Monkey (a small utility that soccupe any), but several updates a bit tedious THE FIRST connection, even the records of license to operate the Gearbox standalone and Gearbox plugin.
An incompatibility stressful dpart: Monkey Whereas my hard disk RAID0 is not compatible with the Gearbox Help! Ralite but it works well despite lalerte trs
The control panel of the card is trs clear, but no manual trs sen goes well. Ugly of Gearbox is in English, but Careers News of software is intuitive and makes ugly trs almost useless.

N2 miracle: it works on Vista at first.

    GETTING STARTED

Drivers stable a priori, Monkey gre alone the updates, cest trs comfortable.
No perceptible latency lenregistrement thanks to Systm direct tone. Unlike what often reads Quon, suprieure 2ms latency is perfectly perceptible lenregistrement when making casseroles guitar for example. And of the nothing, cest time rel including modlisation! bluffing.
Jai had parasites beginners on the speaker's output through my mixer with Cables asymtriques. Now thanks to Cest rgl Cables symtriques jack / XLR lUX8 to my amplified speakers.
Jai also had problem of cracking 96 KHz playback that does rsolus by adjusting the buffer 1024 and most economical use of plugins.
Note: Gearbox plugins have a trs intensive CPU and when the CPU is saturated on its cracks. Therefore prvoir a powerful machine especially under Vista.
JRecording for my part in five simultaneous tracks 96 KHz 24 bit without any problem, despite Reserved Quon could have on lUSB2, the cest pool.

Here a little improvisation to test the device: http://www.robostrike.com/chris/testux8c.mp3
I recorded the drums on 5 tracks raw 96 KHz 24 bit and the bass amp in direct-free and without cab then Grat via modeling

    OVERALL OPINION

I am the User for 1 month, whenever jai 5 minutes before me hooked carrment What I find extra cest davoir into a single interface rponse of all my needs with a big sound and a light prt only thing to play right away, most of cable and transformers everywhere, nothing but music.
The converters are of good quality trs little diffrence with the Terratec Phase 28 and M-Audio Delta 44 that jai had before, but benefitted from the 8 inputs 8 outputs. Lamlioration sound is probably more related to the quality pramplis (no breath) and modlisations that can add grain and heat easily.
You can play his instrument while listening to modlisation and record only the raw signal. This then allows the Daffin modlisation rglage read by the plugin when the mix, rather EST gnial as Systm (but trs consumer CPU).
Another thing to note CEST on Systm rduction Gearbox available in the breath (very useful for Electroacoustic guitar sounds or trash). However, I find that the bundle comes with Silver lUX8 is a fair bit at the modlisations and effects available. Considering the price of lengin esprer even when we could have the Power Pack with, but Line 6 will ask for $ 99 more for a machine not clamp
Finally, the look is pretty nice unlike external interfaces else designated in Eastern Sibre.

Given all these entirety and as part of an lUX8 use for leisure and lenregistrement models of good level, the ratio price quality of this beautiful toy is excellent. Do not forget to prvoir PC pedals derrire solid, if not glop.

not many problems, we must "authorize" the machine to be able to use plugins that are unique interest from the machine. Everyone knows that to make music on a PC it is better to avoid the Internet, more in my studio there is no internet, gold must be logged in to use the plugins the first time.
Technical support from line6 is nonexistent: a forum where GU (user friendly) receive good grades and virtual medals when they respond, allowing Line 6 not to deal with the media.
In a week's forum, I still have not managed to get the information they need to know: When can we allowed to use plugins on multiple machines.
    Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
yes, crashes repeatedly, many "lock" of XP (the mouse blocked) which had never happened in XP. When you start eg Sound Forge and Cubase SX by the space bar, it takes 1 to 2 seconds before the music starts, and when it starts there is a strong digital noise.
After another unsuccessful week on this forum (in English, Line 6 purports to answer questions within 24 hours) which replaces technical support worthy of the name, (I had the right at all: it's Sony, it XP SP3, uninstall any need etc ...) a member of Line 6 has come to release the info: The UX 8 is incompatible with some motherboards that use chipsets and intel quadcore. The list of these chipsets is specified anywhere.
Line 6 knows this problem since early July, we are mid November and nothing has been done.

The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
    Manual? What manual?

    GETTING STARTED

    - The drivers are stable?
    - Are they often updated?
    not. see above.

    - What software do you use most often?
Live, Cubase, Sound Forge, Vegas (8 UX does not work the last 3)

    What you get lag?
At a minimum, that line calls 6 zero latency, there are a few milliseconds, enough to hear a disconnect between what you play and what is meant.

How many tracks you get to record / play time? ...
when it does not crash, 8-registration

    OVERALL OPINION

    - How long have you use it?
    I bought 2 months ago.

What is so special that you like most and least?
+: For 450 euros, you have a lovely dock door
    -: Unstable beyond reality.
-: On the Line 6 site it says that Apogee converters are the same, perhaps, but the quality of a string is equal to the quality of the weakest link, and the weak are the mic preamps, of extremely poor quality. The gain does not provide a background quasimment not level, even recording a battery for example.
-: Non-existent technical support that uses the users to do their job. (English only)
-: The "zero latency" which means ...
-: Plugins: no shortcuts (eg arrow or + / - or customized) to access the presets, it is necessary to constantly open the presets via mouse, menu / sub menu / sub menu / list of presets, to access a preset, when you play an instrument is totally unusable.
-: Even turned off the engine warms up.
-: The buttons have a plastic look cheap immitation of the metal.
-: I have others but the biggest is said and should be enough to think twice before wasting their euros in the material below the whole competition

Have you tried many other models before buying it?
I zik of 25 years, sound cards I've seen happen, the more cheap for large models, this one breaks all records.
I wanted to replace my 2000 ESI to rid me of my mixer cumbersome, error. If It Is not broke, do not fix it.

How would you rate the quality / price?
If it works, preamps the preamplifier, the interface was used, then I would say "good" but then pointed to zero ...

With experience, you do again this choice? ...
and I'm not there to prevent that others do have.

As having the following derrire gear was not the same bandwidth with the PCI USB2 only, and as long as you reduce a lot the size of the buffer, you must have it that must derrire.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have been using Cubase SX3 6 months:
trs is intuitive and well damn, I'm not a fan of ultra modlisations line6 (I prfre guitar rig), but the plug in is great practice for the rest, I use to modlisations pramps for my catch of his voice, acoustic guitar, etc., as well as the effects and the quality is l.
The clean guitars are really nice too.

    For sounds: www.reverbnation.com / vistheband
In short I am happy trs, I used a few times in dplacement to save battery and went really well.

In short it is a good product, I can advise you.

Small side of the mdaille, USB connectors: I had the opportunity to install it on ordis not rev performance and the latency was a little dj feel.

But it is not seen the quality of pramps, what we can do and price.

Line6 has done well in the heavy sound with connectors fixs well (there's nothing that moves at home!), Not plastic. It is mtal ... Brief will see in stores.

    UTILIZATION

No worries drivers. As against it takes two hours to bring the day. Is death. But once that is done, a roll.
Ergonomics is worse than what I saw on the internet for FastTrack. But we do the same thing. Say what you want to hear on each output from the inputs. We can rgler levels, and also the NAP. It's really well done and especially trs has worked well. on the other hand no effect Intgr. But me, I had no need.

    Time to amp simulation software.
They are two. PodFarm and etGearBox. They are free, and contain all the existing simulations Line6. I feel for the other models UX-based simulations is a book, just buy the. I'm not 100%.
The PodFarm is less attractive to GearBox, and especially with PodFarm, it does not recognize visually MODELS amp or effects (you have souventregarder names). I also feel like AIM better than the simulations duGearBox PodFarm. on the other hand PodFarm is a VST plugin, so queGearBox, no (but you can make rewire).
Overall there's plenty to do, and it is REALLY useful. Some simulations are same quality of bluffing (as against the original 100% similarity is a utopia of marketers).

    GETTING STARTED

In fact I t surprised to beginners.
There are between instruments, the line inputs and microphone inputs. Only lesmicros are adjustable with buttons on the front. So for lines and instruments, there is no rglage. It is in the driver told him that if you have a microphone or a branch line. Finally it makes sense.
At guitar, I have a fender and a gibson, and the sound is respect. Ramping in, even when you lose a little but of good quality qand same in any case enough for me and my level (20 years of amateur scratch).
I install XP on my laptop, and Vista on my desktop. No problem nor one nor the other.

At latency and recording all possible leads at the same time:
On my old XP 1.6 Ghz, I am 40 ms without any click.
On my Desktop AMD Quad, I am 20 ms without any click.
The latency between the lower output latency (ie weird).

    OVERALL OPINION

I have not tried others, but I had other under the eyes.
What I like most: the number of inputs and outputs, the quality of pramp which is very well. But actually you have to go 3 / 4 for an output level correct (without breath). At bottom, there is breath (read the forum rponses the pros). AIM I have a little more under the same foot when it will be the least little quibaissela note.

The silent bargain price right over my budget max, and I think I made a good buy. Apart from this stroke of luck'',''I think I would not regard the UX8 because even when they sell expensive compared to others. So I took the M-Audio ouplutt duPresonus (which everyone speaks well in stores).
But I'm really glad UX8. And even if the price for me in silent limiting nine, I think qu'ilest really justified by the strong and the quality of components and sound. So long live the UX8!

I said in passing that I could m'improviser sound guys and save the drummer. The idea is a bit of rub me the sound recording and mixing, since it tempts me for a long time.

    * What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk ,...)?

Acer Laptop (2 * 2ghz and 3GB of Ram), not at all reserved to the audio.

    UTILIZATION

    * The drivers are stable?

    Yes and no. see "Implementation"

    * Are they often updated?

I think they are too often updated ...

    * What software do you use most often?

Ableton Live: works very well once the card is stable

    * What latency you get?

A relatively high latency: 30ms. But I do not account for the fact UX8 both work at the same time. She offers sound through pod farm that has virtually no latency and simultaneously sends a signal to the computer that has a lot of latency.

So the sound through the headset has no latency (very easy to register) but whoever manages to ableton live if ... As ableton live is damn good, he proposed to automatically compensate for latency.
In short, it works well but we feel that these are tricks people very comfortable with computers. It is not incomprehensible, but it takes a while to understand their system.

    * How many tracks do you manage to record / playback simultaneously? ...

In theory it's 8. I did a test and it seems to work with 5 tracks. I would soon be recording drums so I would update my review.

    GETTING STARTED

    * The installation is done it without problems?
    * Have you experienced any incompatibilities?

In fact, the facility has been laborious. Let me explain: Line 6 offers many programs: Pod FARM2, Gear Box, Guitar Rig ... We can get it back on an interface called Monkey.

When one understands how it works it's great. But it's very complicated to understand. I get the impression that people in line 6 of his big geek ...

In short, the first two days there were lots of updating to do and frankly it's annoying. This cut constantly because there must be a concern with the Internet. Basically, the wifi will crash like the sound card and everything is connected to the internet at first, the sound card is unusable.

I was full of stalls, etc. of clicks. until I came across a tip in the forum Audiofanzine (Incidentally Thanks! is what motivated me to put a review).

Once I followed the advice and disconnected my wifi interface, no more concern (system-device manager - network cards - name of the wifi card that handles - driver - disable - ok)

    * The general configuration is easy?

So not! It is not easy at all. But once it works, it is the foot.

    * The manual is clear and sufficient?

No, there are manuals to download but I think for the equipment as complicated (with plugins, simulations etc.). It is absolutely a paper written in impeccable French.

    OVERALL OPINION

    * For how long have you been using it?
    2 weeks
    * What thing do you like most/least about it?

The amp simulations seem fantastic, the sound card in the air

    * Did you try many other models before getting this one?

No, I had to alesis IO2 but I really hated that map.

    * What is your opinion about the value for the price?

For now it's a fair bit to say. But if we put aside the facility is great.

    * Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...

Yes, but I would release an entire weekend to tame the beast.
