I use it outside the studio where the gear is necessarily more advanced and better quality for shooting fast guitar or singing but he would fit right in a small home studio for really reliable.

I had the UX one before, but I decided to change the model need phantom power for my AKG 120.
I use it mainly for recording voice, my guitar and some other instruments to tinker multi track compositions.
My computer 'date of 2010 with a standard configuration ... the same time, this type of device does not require much resources, on the other hand, recording software makes the difference.

UTILIZATION

Installation super simple software for pilots, one for the pod farm 6 (interface offering tons of digital effects) and one for the record ... I do not use. Personally, I prefer Audition.
I tinker generally leads to 4-5 maximum with a sample rate of all there is more standard (44K), and the little box is very good work.

GETTING STARTED

No problem getting started, powered by the USB connection, so RAS. The use of software 6 Pod Farm to test interesting combinations, but the quality of these effects are modest.

I would do this choice without hesitation

USB soundcard with 2 guitar and bass inputs, 2 mic inputs with phantom power supply and two VU meters on the front. I use it with Windows XP and a whole bunch of software Mao.

UTILIZATION

No problems installing the drivers, everything is downloaded from the Line 6 website. Everything is very stable. I use a lot with Guitar Rig and Amplitube, no audible latency and excellent.

GETTING STARTED

Installation is easy via Monkey software (downloadable at line 6) configuration is done via an app and is very simple (configuration noon, footswitch, and audio). I do not have the manual but there is not really necessary.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 or 5 months, I owned a M-Audio interface, which I think had more latency than the toneport.Je would do this choice without hesitation because it is super easy to install and configure, and does what we asked. It has all the inputs and outputs I need.

Used with mic (XLR) and electric guitar live (jack).

UTILIZATION

Sound very good to my level. Integrated amp simulator (usable VST) is really good for us to take some time to find a sound.
Against by a very painful is that you should run a special software to switch recording to the XLR jack. Not practical at all!

I use it as a sound card as recording interface and as amp simulator.

GETTING STARTED

Drivers for Mac and PC, no worries. When the PC is off, you have the right to a big "pop" from the speakers, it is better so do not forget to turn off the speakers BEFORE the PC. Apart from that, no complaints.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about 3 years. No worries. Very good value for money and the design is nice.
I suggest you take a ride on the "store" to buy the line6 and pack additional effects that are really good.

Enough to make a clean model.

you can hear its sound thanks to my sequencer live. I use it under seven with 8GB of memory RAM SSD with a hard disk of 60 gb. PC configured fixed by a professional.

UTILIZATION

drivers are stable and updated XP, Vista and Seven. I used to live with ableton.
I record track by track or my voice xlr or my guitar, my groove box or my bass jack.
Good model for micro modeled amp and guitars (many possibilities). No latency I put 8/10 is very good to use simplified and efficient.

Installation is easy, the config is easy and the manual is clear and I put 7/10 on the implementation.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using for years, it was only by against my external audio card for now. What I like most is its amp models, what I like least is its side like a little black plastic box and plastic chrome knobs.
I put 7/10 because it is a good value for money especially used.
I would do this choice without hesitation ...

Connected to a PC 2008 (2GB, AMD dual carburetor body), I mostly bought bundles of amps and effects, and it's job very well.
I connect the pc usb, and on the other side I swallow the TonePort:
* Live: the guitar, bass
* Via an external analog mix: from the pre-processed voice, keyboards, premixes, drums
I record everything in cubase, to make models.
Amps and guitar effects are great, I am not a fan of bass amps, but it's really personal I think.

UTILIZATION

Driver side, RAS, everything goes well, I update from time to time, and it has never let go of Windows XP to start in seven today. Then I'm not super pro administration of PC, knowing that I have another sound card in the same computer, and I do not fall below 10 ms latency, but as I have never embarrassed ...
1 track recorded at the time, but I'm all alone, so it is not a concern ... attention if it is to save a group with several channels at the same time, it is not.

OVERALL OPINION

I put in January 2008 because it is so blended into the landscape of the home studio, I feel like I've always had ...
The feature I like the most: guitar amplifiers: numerous, varied, realistic
The one I like least: VU mêtres are funny, but experience tells me they are not calibrated: I stalled many times over (the needle approaching the max without bottoming) to find myself with a signal way too much to listen to the recording
I do not remember the price new, but frankly it was affordable, and I replongerais without hesitation.

My choice was dictated by my equipment: guitars, bass, Toneport is both sound card / audio interface and multi-effects, I thought I could draw a maximum saving and replacing my old Korg A5 at the end of life.
I used it with electric guitars, bass passive Rode microphone requiring 48V (it has available, so again, material saving) and acoustic guitars with piezo pickup and preamp or no preamp.
Essentially use a Toshiba laptop computer oriented office (one processor, 1GB of RAM, disk limited to 80GB external hard drive over USB): no latency issues or crunches as long as you set the buffer (buffer) in the system settings UX. And that is the rule not to support Windows software, but the background tasks because the sound is.

UTILIZATION

Stable drivers: yes and no.
Line6 is strongly turned Windows, so Linux drivers were difficult to use and updates Windows without frequent but I saw the utility detects that a lot before turning each.
To save, I have Reaper and it works, 2 track input used along with other previously recorded tracks playing. No problem recording / playback with up to 40 tracks to play along, but comprise only about 30 drum or cymbal etc.. because the battery is broken down into individual instruments.
+ A certain number of effects and MIDI tracks VST / VSTi.
I have not measured the latency, but it was not a problem to me from the moment I took the ASIO either Toneport ASIO or ASIO4ALL.
There is a latency-free monitoring system if you listen to the Toneport, not the recording is done. Can understand that sometimes two listens and measure latency, if you can play the rhythm more easily.
Linux, although I never managed to use it to record, but I could at a time and under certain distributions (64 Studio) use it to listen.

GETTING STARTED

Installation: You just make sure to install the drivers, Toneport unplugged, then plug it when it is finished so that Windows recognizes. Installation not fast, and Windows application without stopping to confirm you really want to install something that is not recognized. A peak for a contraption owner at that point and only turned to Windows for so long.
General Setup: simple because the interface reminds audio equipment. Press control rule at the same time that the mouse if you want to do fine tuning.
Incompatibilities: No, except with Linux. Not fit on to the drivers, and especially no possible use software amp simulations and efets guitar / bass / vocals.
Manual: almost clear but we must think through the interface to understand why sometimes we hear nothing (the gag out "mutated" for example).
A bad point for fragile or planned obsolescence: fallen stranded on the registration / entry without warning. More usable that side without knowing why, and not about the repair myself, it's integrated circuit welded and not clipped onto a welded bracket. And nothing looks broken it. Obviously out of warranty. Very bad point.

OVERALL OPINION

I stopped using it after a move to save unfortunate event or a stranger who botched the input stage. Possible to connect anything to entry without a buzz unbelievable or socket line or instrument or microphone not working, while the outside looked neat trick.
I keep it as simple playback sound card, much better than any internal sound card.
So what I like least:
1 / fragility
2 / indécrottablement Windows.
Plus: good sound quality and convenient to use with its dedicated software or any other, but only under Windows (especially XP, more stable).
Value: good if you consider the effects (even if it is rather true that sometimes effects demo, but they intend to sell their other catalog) months if there are good physical frailty after 3-4 years.
With experience, I would do that choice, I would buy a good quality card with Linux, and I would use simulations and effects available in large quantities, free and editable.

Very short latency, no wind, perfect for the réamping or recording guitar for the amp modeling.

Ti7200 on a laptop 4gb of ram.

It should be 2 or 3 years that I have, before I had the version 1 guitar input but I need XLR input, it's very good stuff, no breath and almost no latency, start buttons Well, a little light but sturdy. I would do this choice without problems. I had had for just over 100 euros on thomann a promo, which was a big deal!

I wanted a sound card, a pre-amp, effects. There is in this machine for cheap and with a good (or very good) quality!
I use it for recording instruments or voice. The fact of having everything in one place greatly facilitates manipulations. The sounds and effects are obviously detachable and customizable.
I recorded and sent lower parts studio albums without problem.

I use it for several years. Given the excellent price / quality ratio, I remake this choice. There are obviously other interesting but more expensive or a different config (multi-track recording, etc).

To make fast, 2 line inputs, 2 mic inputs with phantom power, 2 inputs for guitar / bass.
Headphone jack output to connect these speakers.

I originally used on PC, then I switched to Mac and it worked perfectly in 2 cases. I am a guitarist and she was very helpful in 2 titles. Already back guitars for my music projects course with the help of simulations contained inside the camera that I bought later.

No worries particular, I used podfarm with the pc, and since the transition to Mac, I do not use that interface as such (no presets etc. ..). The sound is dry, then treated in the mac with other plug.

Registration ben .. 2 tracks, and reading ... uh ... it depends on the rate of load plug sessions, the buffer size of course, but it's not a pb, the limit is far ...

ideal for those who have not much money and time to all who want their little registration card or simply used as the amp because you have amp modeler provided inside for the price of the box is right. I used this sound card with a pc and a mac if you can use an amp in my little studio at the time. I save quite a title for my pleasure (failing to have a group).
I used it mainly with Cubase and Reason.

UTILIZATION

The Gear box and supplied with a manufacturing plant for its super versatile electric guitar, electro or bass.
Latency is near zero it is very easy to manage multiple tracks with his séquenseur and synchronize it with a rhythm box.
Only drawback, you have to buy new hardware to use the new software, but with this quality at this price it's still a turie.

This is an entry level recording interface with two XLR inputs, two quarter inch instrument inputs, and two quarter inch line in's. It has a head phone jack, also quarter inch. It has two analog quarter inch outs and a Spdif digital out. There are two footswitch controls and a stereo monitor in. It connects via USB, and supplies phantom power. The interface comes with Pod Farm software which is a modeling plug in. It also comes with Ableton Live Lite, and Reason Adapted.

I bought this unit from an ebay store for $189. I shopped for many different units but I felt this was the best thing for a beginner to learn to record on. It came with everything I needed, software and all, to get started and learning the basics.

It is very easy to use. All you have to do is plug in, make sure you have the right input selected and record. The setup was easy as well. If you are using the Ableton software that was included, it guides you through to get the interface set up. If you have your latency settings set right, the interface has very small latency even when you are recording a processed signal. The Pod Farm plugin has some neat sounding presets and you can get some decent sound by tweaking EQ. The controls are very easy to use as well. Both of the mics have a gain control and there is a headphone level and an output level. The phantom power button is clearly labeled. Once you figure out how to use reason, it is also a powerful program. Each program is only a trial version but they all are very usable to start out.

I wish you could select the input you are recording with on the interface itself and not in a program. It also needs to be able to record inputs simultaneously. This isn't really a complaint for the interface, but they could have included a tutorial on how to use Reason with Albeton.

It seems to be built very well. I haven't had any trouble with it yet. There isn't much else to say here.

I think this is the best little package you can get for $200 or less. It has everything you need to get started and is fairly easy to use. You certainly wont end up with Pro Tools professional recording but it is a great way to learn.

I've been playing guitar for only a few years, (drums for 10+, bass for about 5, keys for maybe a bit longer) and more recently making electronic music for my project Time Zones and Area Codes.

I bought it from guitar center for a little less than $150. I liked the reviews on the site and I needed an interface to record my guitar with.

It's super easy to use, sounds awesome, comes with free software (without needing 'unlock' codes), has awesome amp modeling technology, sounds great with more than just guitars, has 2 XLR inputs for mics (which recently got me into doing more ambient/noise work), and pretty much all-around rocks. The bypass button is the icing on the cake though, not having to use their crazy digital rigs when you don't necessarily need to. Awesome!

Clipping noises, and lots of them. Even when there's no peak going on, I sometimes get an annoying little ticking sound that ruins my loop or track or whatever i'm working on. It usually can't be EQ'd out without losing my perfect tone. Also, the sounds are a bit 'digital' sounding, so unless you're using the bypass with certain instruments you're going to want to punch your studio monitors in the face.

In all honesty, I don't think it's that big of a drawback (unless you plan on playing football with the device), but it's not built THAT great. It will last, as long as you treat it with semi-special care.

This thing is amazing. Sure it's not a tank, but if you need to record guitar, vocals, bass, keyboards, didgeridoo, trumpet, violin, harmonica, or just about anything this is definitely for you.
