Installation is no problem on a G5 bi-pro ... but the PC is another problem! I installed the PC Mbox2 of 4 prs has little equivalent (P4 2 to 3GHz, 2GB RAM) to work only one is stable! Making a real head.
The configuration is without much difficulty, at the same as there is not much to see ... it works or not work.
The manual is clear, but are not familiar Digidesign there a. .. how to say ... to learn a particular language: the language ... a protools shuffled to an English-franais Drout little ...
Even when I put one in the manual that is very useful if you are a regular at other software of its kind whatsoever ... because it must be read to be able to run a minimum in protools.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
I go to use it on PC which is only possible if you have exactly the configuration recommended by Digidesign (if not the dictatorship has!) Is I will use a dual-G5 proc 2.8 GHz: the software works well enough, a few crashes from time to time, but I think there are users habits, so one could say that even if a plant is stable. .. and yet I'm only importing or PT6 PT7 sessions in order to convert them into APRS PT5 and import them into my favorite editor http://www.sydec.be and reading sessions the maximum 32 tracks (in any case one can no more!
The performances are those of the G5, so no comment on, missing is a train with a 3500 G5, and too bad what?
Since version 7.1 I have a few crashes at the opening session and PT5 PT6, but must insist eventually walk, and also when I do a 'save session copy in' ... but hey

OVERALL OPINION

I use proutools 4 years in office really basic: opening sessions, backup, small ditions.
What I like most is that you can be the pter saying "I have a studio in proutools" right now the client is listening, and I work with APRS software that really works, in short something pro.
What I like least is proutools. But unfortunately I have no choice, it has become "the" flagship software in my area and I understand why, it's more expensive (in a version with which one can begin to work seriously: HD2 or HD3) in an LE version was working in DV image is an option as that protools is not done the work the picture!
Some will say "yeah but you can do anything with," I would say "yes, everything ... but evil"
