Installation is no problem. Version 8.2 possde a USB key authorization PACE and occurs without any problem. I install Sampitude 4 years now, at work and at home, I have never encountered any problem. I never reinstall the software.
Software configuration is quite prcise in version 8 (especially at the buffers, etc ...), so it can be a bit complicated but at the same time very practical to adjust the machine and the soft type of work performed.
The manual could be more prcis more provided, even if it is much better than before. It still allows the same connatre all the bases.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I work with Samplitude on multiple machines. My personal machine is: Racksen Chassis, motherboard Gigabyte EP 885, PIV, 1 GB Ram, 80 internal IDE, and 250 USBII external sound card RME Multiface + Mackie Control, Mackie HR824 with.
No problem running. Would be difficult adcrire performance but when the CPU is full, there is the "freeze" to work around the problem. so it's always cool.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Sat for 4 years, I started with version 6. I used to work with Pro Tools and when I Discoveries Sam, I sold my Digi 001 and that's my G4.
For me, Samplitude is unique, almost perfect to see what is Fast Fashion coughing sound design, music or contrte lctroaccoustique. Trs trs well as for multitrack recording, mixing. It is also a marvel for the radio work (editing, mixing, etc ...)
Weak points are: working with the video. it works, but not OMF. There are no hardware to insert the slices (see pro tools) and automation of the mixing desk is still incomplte. (O of the 9 / 10)

But it is a pleasure to work with this software, especially thanks to the design and object (invented by Fairlight 20 years ago ...) taken over by little audio editor. Each object on the timeline has its own effects in real time, of his dpart to, etc ... FBP can be, cut, copy, he will always have its effects and departure. I never do the calculation of effects (such as Pro Tools AudioSuite). it's happiness, because it is intuitive trs, trs and cratif.
