UTILIZATION

Full manual but certainly some baths used are incomprehensible.
The whole ear may in many cases work.

SOUNDS

For the live hardtek / tribe, adequate sound BUT in addition, a sampler of ES1/ES1 style mkII or ESX is expected.
For my part, 1 EMX/KM402/ES all cables connected to OYAIDES gold plated .......... miammmmmm

I soon since 5 years, the first two years, I have little use because I preferred my other passion BUT used for two very good years regularly, the creation of a track is relatively simple .... ...

No polyphony, a single velocity possible (excluding changes in volume) and the pad can very useful for composing a battery.

Some are really low but Crados exploitable wave.

The manual is PERFECT! Korg does not just do better. Clear and well explained with a quick start guide to rush to touch everything

However, go read tutorials on the web or watching video can be very helpful.

She responded well and responds quickly and just! Maintenance of a potentiometer on the other hand must be regular for not damaging in the long term. They remain very strong, you just go to your heart's content!

I try ESX and other models but but I regret my choice of EMX remains one of the least expensive for a first purchase. I acquerrais the ESX occasion because I am very satisfied with this strong brand.


I would do the same choice with the same hesitation between ESX and EMX ^ ^
Perfect for beginners or as a second acquisition.

The Korg Electribe gives us the ability to sequence (as previously stated) 5 mono tracks and the Synth Part 9 Drum percussion Share with a length of 8x16 not. The big news is the SD slot which allows the use of cards with a maximum capacity of 32GB. The Electribe offers the possibility to combine its multiple models together and this is not saying much. It is composed of 16 algorithms oscillators, 4 filters multimode, 3 stereo effects and 2 lamps that gives it an even more endearing. There is also a Chord Oscillator which can play chords with one note, a fashion mix Unisons 6 oscillators to create sounds very thick filter Band Pass Filter Plus, a feature Wave Shape mixture modulated two oscillators, as well as a stereo input from external sources. It consists of a solid metal shell and is mainly used much live.

UTILIZATION

The Electribe mastery is fast enough for me I got so used without box or instructions, however, are many tutorial on the net. It is very easy to use, we chose the pattern and go to create modulated combined ... etc.
I would say that after a few hours on white mastery still the essence of the beast.
Do not forget, it is still made for the live.

SOUNDS

The black dot for me is the sound bank of Electribe. There is a bit of everything, techno, dub, minimal, rock, punk, etc. ... but I do not sound convincing. For my part I use for electro / minimal and I have to spend a lot of time to change my kick, snare and hit-hat without it suits me and I have not found any low corresponding to minimal. This is only my opinion but overall I'm pretty disappointed these sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

I used officially for a few months at full speed even if I could try it before.
What is really significant is the fact of coming home to connect the machine to and from creation time. The grip is very fast and fun! It is extremely versatile although I taste his bank is quite frustrating. And do not forget it's metal so it is ultra durable.
Home to the Electribe effect "queen of the night" because its use is so simple that all my friends rushed over and compose fun. One for his playful side.
I got it for 150 euros and in perfect condition, and I would do so certainly this choice.
I therefore recommend because it offers the opportunity to create a strong foundation, it is used simply and effectively.

Box Grove:

This machine allows you to sequence up to 5 mono tracks and a percussion ensemble (9). Each sound track is programmable, monophonic, and based on emulation and analog or PCM samples: it has one or two oscillator, triangle, square, sine, noise that is combined in many different ways and internal samples that are little or not deform, by track. 3 effects at all, can be applied to one of the other tracks. Be either one to one or successively. An external audio signal can be used as source and go through all the effects.
There is a certain limit in the programming of sounds, but it is possible to reproduce a lot of exploring sound with the machine.
The twelve o'clock implementation allows complete control of the machine.

UTILIZATION

The use is convenient for the live. The only drawback to this machine is almost all using potentiometer not infinite. Indeed all the potentiometer used to set sound of a track, is used for the other track. So when you select another track, the faders do not recover the positions corresponding to the track. For example, if the VCF is in the middle for track 1 and I spend edition track 2, I put it to the max for it, returning on track 1, I still have my equivalent setting in the middle but as soon as I move the potentiometer, which is Max position, it causes a jump to the instantaneous value or it is located, ie at Max. Therefore storing or is each track setting, if you decide to vary the sound during a song. However indicator shows the initial position for the track. The Manual is clair.La machine very intuitive.

SOUNDS

The two lamps can give body to the sound. Effects are relatively customizable. I set a goal of one copy of Vitalic Poney. it is entirely feasible Live voice effect included (quick demo on soundcloud Atienon)
In Sequencer mode you can set the speed, but the mini keyboard, case, this parameter does not live. This machine will be limited to reproduce the classic .. but effective for a hacker wanting electronic sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought 5 years ago. resold. I bought a year ago, because it's solid, very solid, metal block anything! Solo machine for € 200, there really enough to create or reproduce a lot of things. I recommend this machine groove box first, certainly the best for the price. In a set, it will provide the FX Jarre, the bass track and Percu very powerful.

I recommend it for beginners, it offers something to please autonomously. In reaching its limits it open to other machines but still a very good reference.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since 2010.

I had the roland synth at hand, I find their sound too polished.

It took me three years to find the perfect setup for the EMX:

EMX a midi on the PC sequencer in ableton live
A touchscreen with midi remoter to control the sound level of 5 synths of EMX.

My problems:

- Smart media card hard to find
- Missing a knob to change the tempo of the arpegiator to slow to 1/2, 1/8 ... the global tempo
- Effects that are available on output 1 and 2, and if you want to use these two in the 2 mono, most effects will meet on 2 channels ...

The best way to use 3 and 4 is to put the beat and kick / snare

UTILIZATION

I use it only for its 5 synth tracks from other machines (mcf / blofeld / micro X) for the "electro / dub / hip-hop."

The big advantage of this machine is that you can dial quickly. Getting started is easy and fun. The monophonic tracks do not allow more things, but as a sound source among others, the EMX has its place.

The knobs are a treat to turn, is fun to open / close the filters.

I use it primarily for bass, leads and FX.

SOUNDS

The sounds are fine for me. Incisive sounds, powerful style with a clean machine.

The possibilities are wide. Between the various waveforms, modulation, filters and 2FX, there is something to be repeated. However, we will recognize the grain of the machine that is very characteristic. But again, among other synth, it's almost a quality.

To the rhythm that's another story. I think the percussive sounds are not quite so numerous or very average. One tires quickly.

OVERALL OPINION

It's 2/3 years that I possess.

The price / quality ratio is good. VA synth monophonic multi-timbral (5 tracks) with which one can leave the original sounds without spending hours of programming. Ergonomics is the main strength of this machine (and Electribes in general).

As groovebox is limited on the other hand and this time we recognize the machine 2km. It is best to move towards a MC-808 for example (a bit more expensive) which is much more complete (600 waveforms, many drumkits, effects, routing, number of tracks, synthesis) and can engage in different musical styles.

With the EMX, it is handsomely in electro.

The Elcetribe-MX is a modification / upgrade from the original Electribe, they are mainly used for dance. But in today’s music world you can find a use for it in almost any genre of music that is on the market currently. After using the Electribe EMX 1 it didn’t take me long to realize that this thing is built to last. I have dropped it a few times and it kept working just find. Probably because of the metal chassis that are keeping it solid. Most of the buttons are back lit so you can use it in a club setting or in a dark room without any problems. And the LCD screen is also back lit, and it is easy on the eyes. No need to worry about straining your eyes here.


UTILIZATION

All the functions are pretty easy to access. Not really too many submenus. You will probably need the manual though unless you are coming from the first version of the Electribe, if you are coming from the earlier version you can probably figure most of the stuff out just on your own. Especially if you hate manuals like most of us do! But if you need the manual it is pretty easy to understand. Pretty standard structure and its not too thick.


SOUNDS

The sound of it is great, no complaints in that area. They could have put a little more work into developing the reverb dial though. When you receive the Electribe it will show up with 3 songs on it I think if I am remembering correctly. The effects that you can use for your songs are overall great, you wont be disappointed with them at all. It will really give your music the final touches to make it pop and stand out.


OVERALL OPINION

Overall, the Korg ElecTribe EMX1 is well worth the investment in your music. With the ability to use tap tempo so set your tempo eternally you can go wrong. This unit is great for live shows. A good friend of mine has been using this unit for a long time with his live performances. You will have complete control of your music with this unit. I recommend it and a lot of people do as well. Control every parameter of your sound with the Korg Electribe EMX1

I would not on its well-known characteristics.

Personally, I opened some faith in the beginning to follow the instructions in order to take control and then to go into detail I put it aside (I have no specific training to technical sound and I do not really understand). Parcontre after some time (2 / 3 months) after having a right to left bidouilé I have reopened and there you understand more easily juxtaposed as it arrives at what we did with what is write.

Yes, the menus are not as easy to access on some or bike you have to turn right at the florist, enter the left door ..... lol

Trs good machine but do not take it for a workstation, coupled with other small wonders notament some sequencer software like Orion, Fruity to control MIDI ARTKAYK sympathik but for those who lack the means to afford a controller (complete) MIDI.

A small snag that's why I put only 8 is missing a step by step mode to the sequencer but good.

UTILIZATION

Config ultra simple, electribe being to my taste and my knowledge of the most intuitive groove present.

The functions is not a complicated one knob per function so it's super simple

The manual seems pretty well detailed, although I have not read quite as intuitive to use.

SOUNDS

The drums are quite successful for style Dance Techno D & B, but there's no crowd either. It is basically that the korg tappe lot if you want to spend your chemain world music.

The synth sounds are broad and flexible as desired (3 + effects + lfo filter + lamp)

Realistic, not too much that a little tweaking can be obtained Bécanne sounds ranging from Asian to more electric shades

The effects are varied and pretty damn too bad for a Bécanne of this type (the here and like many Bécanne separate outputs to emerge is that only the master can send no more on a sub)

For the reaction to the velocity I do not know too if it is received but once saved in the sequencer found the whole dynamic (just small problem when playing with an external sequencer, but it is not the goal of a groove)

I like the unison mode in particular but also many other grind browse to look for and obtained a sound enough analog

OVERALL OPINION

It's been four months that I use I still love to own intuitive Korg Electribe.

On this model more upmarket they could fuck a preset mode for creating sound banks and avoid imports and exports of a pattern of sounds to another, but it's good like that.

Least for me it might tilt the audio comb in which I find is not the most convincing.

The audio is still in practice it often enough (more than one entry with the lamp in the ass)

A mc909 tried before and I think a Electribe EA1 (also RM1x)

The value for money is not the top (699 euros in three toll-free) but I probably repeat this machine if I had to repeat the choice (among other things because I already have a powerful enough sequencer emu xl7)
