Winter NAMM 2012 News
The G-DEC, while intentionally marketed towards teachers/students/just learning guitar players or not, this amp is definitely built for that. There's a lot of presets and a lot of built in songs to play around with and learn with, however these aren't full songs, they're more like loops. Though you can upload your own songs I believe. Overall it...
I just think Fender can do better than this. It seems like they're skating by on name recognition and cosmetics. This amp isn't nearly as versatile as a comparable Line 6, so I can't recommend it.
These amplifiers are fairly hard to track down. If you're looking for just a Fender twin reverb in general you can find this pretty easily and you can probably find them and most guitar retailers online or in most musical shops. The red knobs can it be little bit harder to track down so if it's not absolutely necessary and I suggest just...
This is a neat little practice amp, even if it is kind of expensive since it doesn't come with any type of tone shaping controls at all. Still, nice, clean tones are easily delivered from this amp, making it a great combo for someone who just "has to have" tube warmth in their bedroom rig. I ended up passing on this amp, but did ...
Overall, this is a great product for its intended audience. The amp is a fun, versatile, and easy to carry combo that should last a long time for its owner. Check it out!
These amplifiers are pretty heavily in circulation and can be found pretty easily and most classified sections as well as eBay and other auction sites. If you look through craigslist you're bound to come across for example amps and with the gear prices as low as they are right now this is a great buy to get a vintage tone and a fantastic...
I mostly like the sound of clean channel. I don't use much reverb but it sounds nice, too. Its tone when played loud is great, not so great when trying to find a volume below number 1, seems to clip down or reduce the amount of effects. At the time, long ago, I tried other amps and I chose this because of the mellower sounds than o...
All in all I think the Fender Bassman reissue is a great buy for anyone who likes Fender amps and wants something with a little bit more grit fresh out of the box. It's definitely got its own sound and its easy to see why Marshall took inspiration from this original amp for their first designs. This reissue runs about $1,450 new which is a good ...
All in all I think the Fender Pro Reverb is a great buy for someone looking for great tone a-la a Twin Reverb and who likes the dual 12" speakers, but doesn't want the full gauntlet of 85 tube watts. The Pro Reverb is an ideal gigging or jamming amp provided you can get some volume pumped into it, even just a bit, but certainly less than the Twi...
All in all I think the Fender '65 Princeton Reverb is a great amp for someone looking for classic Fender cleans in a simple smaller wattage package. It sounds great and has the ability to be turned up a little more than some of the bigger Fender amps. It sells new for about $800 which is a good deal considering the tone and quality, and hey, wha...
