UTILIZATION

* Configuration is very simple, if you can not fix is ​​that you have not hands (and again, with the feet it must be feasible) or that you are blind. So the manual is almost non-existent but that's enough though, the more it would have been a waste of paper.

* This gives a good sound easily. It is a little trickier, but at low volume by moving the knobs in a measured way you get there very well.

SOUNDS

* I play mostly blues and rock above, with an Epiphone Les Paul Special, a Aslin Dane "The Jazz" (super scratch type ES 335) and sometimes a multi-effect X-Vamp.

* The clean sound is pretty good, bright enough without ever being nasal. With its bottom can supposedly get a crunch, but it's still very subtle crunch as ...

* The overdrive sound is excellent, very fat, very punchy and quite subtle (by then we can have against a super crunch). It is a transistor amp so do not rely on the grain of the lamps, but it's not the same price either ... The only thing is that the knob to "contour" makes the saturated sound a bit noisy and rough for my taste. So usually I leave quite low or even zero and it works very well.

* The reverb is very good too, it colors the sound so very friendly, and can be really subtle or really deep.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for 7 years, and there is not much to say about it, it is very simple but very effective, and the overdrive is really great, especially for crunch sounds and Satus medium lively for a transistor amp. In addition it is extremely strong, a real tank!

I'll probably replace it with an amp lamps / modeling one of these days, but if I were starting again, without too much money, I would do that choice again! Of all the amps I tried in this price range is the only one that looks like a real amp, not a toy. You can really make music with, and that's what counts, right?

I find it rather unfortunate that there have not output to external speakers, which would be to push a little more easily and play with a drummer, but it is not necessarily the aim of this type of amp ... on the other hand can deplore the absence of effects loop.
A setting of mediums on the clean channel would not necessarily have been the luxury either.

UTILIZATION

Operation is very simple, there are not many settings.
Do not hesitate to use the race of the knobs, you can work the sound very effectively.

The manual gives examples of settings and explains the usefulness of the various knobs, you can do without.

SOUNDS

The previous opinion seems to me fair enough, personally I'm starting to realize that this is not the amp that suits me (that I play a lot less rock than before!).

The sound is centered rock / blues "by Marshall" does mean something, but I have not tried a lot of "real" marshall to say whether there is a special "park" really strong.
It seems however that the "real" marshall come out more easily in the field "fat sound very heavy." The sounds are actually quite versatile, but fans of crystal clear sound and distortion to the piercing Brian May will go elsewhere.
This leaves all that is blues / rock crunchy (overdrive knob at 9 am!), Rhythmic punk and rock n'roll solo (overdrive knob at noon), rock and heavy metal and hardcore (overdrive knob at the bottom).

Use for big rock rhythm and solo metal is where this amp excels: overdrive bottom, lower at noon, boosted treble a little, a little edge to grow and we get all super easy with a big sound a distortion of excellent quality. With a humbucker in acute and granted in drop D is easy to take his foot!

Overall this amp gives a very good sound regardless of the setting being asked, but boosted channel seems more interesting than the clean channel. The reverb is spring and sounds great (very warm and musical).

EDIT: I had the good opportunity to try a lot of amp in a range slightly above recent (combos than a hundred watt with more possibilities) and ben frankly I was surprised to nullity of saturations. I had never really done before gaffe becaufe the clear sounds of other amps I had tried seemed to me better (but that's more a matter of taste: I prefer the brighter sound).
But at the disto he is doing really well my little park: Marshall Valvestate even (I tried both) seem to me ugly and cold side ...
Too bad this is only a 30W ...

OVERALL OPINION

This is my first amp, I found myself with that because I listened to rock when I started the electric guitar. My parents had offered me, so I can not say anything about the price / quality ratio!

Today I realize that this is not the right amp that I play, but it gave me great pleasure when a schoolboy, I dub rhythms and the sex pistols nofx (ah youth !). But I do not know if I sell it, it's a good amp that can be useful in its way.

The defects I cited about the possibilities (effects loop absent, only two bands EQ on the clean channel, only one speaker ...) and power attest: this amp is an amp to play at home and / or to get started.
It is nevertheless a powerful 30W: it is possible to play with a drummer if he buggers too.
So I would recommend primarily for beginners punkrockers or metal rockers or even at all, wishing a good big sound not taking up too much space in their room, but powerful enough to have fun and work effectively rhythmic "wall of sound" .
