Little by little, Digitech reissues the entire range of DOD effect stompboxes, and introduces today the 2014 edition of the 280 Compressor.
The DOD 280 Compressor 2014 edition uses an electro-optical circuit that varies the amount of compressor thanks to a light-dependent sensor and an internal LED. At lower settings, the Comp knobs adds a subtle leveling effect to the signal but if you push the compression the initial attack is “squashed” and the level of notes and chords played raised when they decay.
Just like the original, the DOD 280 2014 edition features an output level knob, along with the Comp, but unlike the first 280, the pedal now features a true bypass.
The DOD 280 Compressor requires an external 9V DC power supply.
