The S-Phone is made by Samson, it is a 4 channel headphone amplifier that has 3 outputs on each channel. It has 5 input channels and 4 output channels. You can rack this unit up to keep out of the way in the studio. I have used his unit about 10 times in total over the last 2 years. It control has a volume options, panning knob, and high and low filter knobs. You will need to put a stereo signal into the auxiliary port on the front of the S-Phone so you can get full sound out of both sides of your headphones, because otherwise you will only get sound out of one side of your headphones.
Mainly we used it in the studio to have volume control over all of the headphone sets that we had at the time. It gave us exactly what we were looking for it and it was very quiet. It didn’t push any hissing or humming through our headphones. Even when messing with the options like panning and high and low pass filters it didn’t push through any clicking or any sounds at all. I have used similar models in the past that any time you messed with an option you could hear some sort of a click or noise through the headphones which could get really irritating for anyone who has the headphones on.
The value of this unit for what you get is great, you will get a very quiet unit that will give all of your headphones in the studio a quiet signal with crisp and clean sound quality. I would not purchase this if you don’t have several headphones that need to be listened to at the same time. Otherwise you will just be wasting your money with this unit. If your studio is a decent size and need to have multiple headphones hooked up then this is a must have.

Bought 6 months ago, I use to make my micro taken which injects a mix is ​​different for each musician.

I prefer the quality of its pre amp than the Behringer, the gains are effective, of course it makes a color that does not really bother since it does not affect the catch. The musician must have a good sound in the headphones (not breathing or crackling) and I think Sanson fulfills its functions.

Small downside are the inputs, there is only on front rack is ... I would have liked entries also on the back of the machine for any wiring behind (which is possible on the Behringer) .

I already had one before ... bought in 2010 because never had any problems with the previous one, for a new config.

I had the nifty gizmo behringer power pro ... that does the same thing but much worse. otherwise I've also used another samson I forget the name but who is 4 amps, which is half of 19 ", 1U.

I bought a headphone amp but not this one. the tascam MH8 (3x more expensive and super) and also the alesis multimix 6cue but it remains a good product

It runs in the studio, super gain, super-linear (but realizing it, you have very good headphones. If there are rotten 10Frs headphones, then better take a behringer entry level)!

We love:
- A general entry sticking out on each of 4 channels,
- One entry per channel (possibility of returning individual headphones) that can mix with the general
- Bass / treble on each channel effective,
- 3 headphone jacks per channel.

We regret:
- A single dose headphone front, the other two are behind, provide for Y,
- The entrance is in front, behind would have been better.

Product to recommend! if one day I need more headphones, then I will take the same.

What I like most about this thing is it does its job well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  If you own a studio, then you definitely need to have a Headphone amp.  This thing does a great job at providing good sound and all the parameters you need to make sure all of the musicians are getting enough playback in their headphones.   There is really nothing wrong with this unit.  I am not crazy for Samson products, but this thing is really great and I got it used for $80.  I think they only cost $170 new, which is still not that bad.  For that price you get 4 channels to send headphone outputs from, all of which have there own little LED output meters, two band EQ's, mutes and the ability to send 3 headphone outputs per each of the four channels.  That means 12 pair of headphones can be run off this guy.  It also has two master stereo inputs, but I have only ever used one, haven't really figured out what I need the other one for, but it doesn't hurt to have options.   The quality of the sound seems to be just fine.  I certainly haven't noticed myself or had anybody else tell me these things sound bad.  Regardless, its not imperative that you have super good quality mixes going to musicians as they are recording.  As long as they can hear everything they need to, which they can with this unit, than whats the difference.  My Presonus Firepod and Firebox have a Headphone output on them and I have switched between all three when mixing a session and have noticed absolutely no difference.  Every studio I have been in so far has either one of these, a Behringer or another "cheap brand" headphone mixer, so I am guessing that they feel the same way I do.  In my experience with behringer though, I definitely recommend the Samson, Behringer stuff always seems to break on me after a few years.  Yes, I would definitely buy this again if I needed to.  If you don't own a headphone amp and you are running a studio, then you need one (although you probably all ready figured that out) and this one is a great buy for a great price.
