Overall Opinion
I do not know where the brand is manufactured Atohm. But we can say they bossent well. Speaker pair, which will cost 4,200 euros is not given, but the quality of wood and finishes nothing wrong.
The enclosure is less a "final deal" that Heco Celan. the Leema Xeta or Kef R900, but it sounds damn good and offers a variation on the theme. Interestingly on this machine, a small rotary knob to influence the frequencies, it is also possible to influence the subwoofer by inserting the vent enclosure (bottom) a foam disc. Always interesting, the ability to weigh the basis of 5kg of sand to further reduce vibration. And original, a complex system of decoupling on two levels is provided with the enclosure. Je ne sais pas où est fabriquée la marque Atohm. Mais on peut dire qu'ils bossent bien. La paire d'enceinte, devisée à 4'200 euros n'est pas donnée, mais la qualité des bois et des finitions ne démérite pas.
L'enceinte est moins un "deal ultime" que la Heco Celan. la Leema Xeta ou la Kef R900, mais elle sonne fichtrement bien et propose une variante autour du thème. Intéressant encore sur cet engin, un petit bouton rotatif permettant d'influencer sur les fréquences, il est aussi possible d'influencer sur les extrêmes graves en insérant dans l'évent de l'enceinte (en bas) un disque de mousse. Intéressant toujours, la possibilité de lester la base de 5kg de sable pour réduire encore les vibrations. Et, d'origine, un complexe système de découplage à deux niveaux est fourni avec l'enceinte. Intéressant encore et toujours, la finition, qui est dans le panier haut de cette catégorie de prix, avec un bois carrément beau et un beau laquage. Franchement... on ne peut que constater qu'un gars s'est pris la tête avec cette enceinte et qu'il soit remercié.
Ensuite, durant le test, j'ai remarqué que l'enceinte était un peu dure à placer. Elle devait être orienté avec une certaine ouverture, ni trop, ni trop peu. Et elle ne donnait complètement bien que sur le sweet spot. Ce qui veut dire que l'écoute debout, que j'affectionne particulièrement, n'est pas optimale du tout, et pas vraiment pardonnante non plus.
Le médium est son point fort. L'aigu tape un peu, suivant ce qui est envoyé et ne m'a pas donné cette impression d'ouverture que j'ai trouvé ailleurs et qui aide à trouver l'écoute moins fatigante. J'ai trouvé le spectre des basses pas assez précis, et ce, peu importe l'ampli utilisé. Elle annonce déjà bien, et il faut la recadrer dans la catégorie des enceintes à 4'000 euros, mais les contrebasses et autres batteries sont simplifiées par l'enceinte. De même, j'ai aussi trouvé un léger resserrement du son dans le grave. Pas un déséquilibre, mais le grave est un peu moins présent que les autres fréquences. Le son avait aussi, selon les registres, un peu de mal à décoller des enceintes. Pas de problème pour décoller la voix des chanteurs en général, mais c'était plus difficile pour les accompagnements. De même, la largeur et la profondeur du champs sonore sont perfectibles. Pas mièvres, mais je sais qu'il se fait mieux.
Mais globalement, c'est une bonne enceinte, bien pensée, bien réalisée, et qui devrait plaire.
