    Marshall VT15

    Marshall VS15Published on 11/18/03 at 15:00
Bought at Manny's Music in Manhattan for $120. I had been using a Squier amp up to this point -- usable, but not enough power and attitude.

Though the Marshall offered fewer options than the Squier (eg. no reverb), the basic sound was just superior. You can get a considerably powerful rhythm crunch if you crank both gain knobs, and clean sounds by turning down. Good 3-band EQ.

No reverb. And there's only one channel.

High. Aside from some dust gathering, the thing still looked almost new after three years of playing.

If this amp hadn't been stolen, I'd still be using it to get my guitar sounds. Though I love the Line 6 Pod, this amp simply had more guts. This model is now defun…

It's a transistor amp 15 watt Valvestate technology that replicates the sound of the lamps.

It has a single input, headphone output and an output to turn on another device.

6 knobs: gain 1, gain 2, treble, contour, bass, master volume.
it has no reverb for against what I think is a shame as it is almost indispensable.

    UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple: a gain for the channel is clear and the gain for channel 2 full.
the settings are accurate Nothing to say it's super easy to adjust!

    Let's talk about her:

In this crystal clear clean sounds, but nothing special, the sound is very correct

In saturated channel, the receiver take totu sense, it is oriented towards this type of sound, the saturation goes from rock crunch to the sound without going into heavy metal.
but the sound is warm and it's great fun, it approaches the the lamp.
through the channel saturated max you can play metal stuff but not the trash-death instead of heavy metal.

    SOUNDS

This amp I used occasionally to play with friends it's easy to transport or on vacation, I usually pair with a distal metal because I play in the registry trash-death but it happens to play no effect and I am very happy!

    OVERALL OPINION

    I have since 1998.

I had a 20 watt amp brand taiwan I wanted an amp better quality but low price, I do not regret because it has a really good sound

it's not worth a big marshall but enough for a guitarist who plays just for fun or who needs an amp that provides travel peu.je advise for a beginner because it will immediately sound really nice that some so-called equivalent brand "X or Y" at the bottom end.

I had to purchase 550 francs at the time he was 6 months.

    Tube amp (preamp)
15 watt transistor and its more than enough for many things.
-Connectors: line-out and head phone output (no loop ...)
SETTING: Two Gain (a former, I like) medium treeble bass, reverb (spring) and a master (in addition to the two gain)

    UTILIZATION

It's a simple amp to the old.
The sound will necessarily clear to a crunch, but through all the nuances that you will, has to say that one can easily obtain a good sound ... this question I have always strangers.
No manual, but not too useful

    SOUNDS

For clean sounds, and c crunch well, with an original sound!
    - I play it with a corte G290: micro simple sound "bluesy-jazz" is very intrssant!

No audio available on this amp fat
the fact that HP is a 8 inch provides acute aggressive enough, we must love, but it sounds differ from one 4x12 and so it can be appreciated.

    OVERALL OPINION

    - I have since I made the guitar ...
    - I love his sound and heat ca (the change of my spider 212)
    - Before the test, but nothing aquérir g I AIM qd mm!
    - Well I'm glad to have known him for ca o g is seen as he has sold the "tube amp" in paris so ... (120 euro)

    attention:
This opinion deals with an old (very old view) of Valvestate series, the others are not the same thing for my taste and do not rely on anything else.

These amps pretty much sound like crap. They have a preamp tube and no power tubes. So the back end section which is the power section is still solid state. This means that they went a cheap way of getting you a "tube amp" and no real change in tone. Most of the feel and tone of a tube amp comes from the power section.

These amps cam in different formats with wattage and different size combos, but note of them sounded worth playing in front of people with. They have a tube voicing but the overall feel and the most important thing, well it just doesn't feel like a tube amp.

    UTILIZATION

    * 15 Watt Valvestate power stage into 1x8" speaker.
    * Twin Gain controls for the widest variety of distortion tones.
    * Treble, Bass and wide sweeping Mid Contour tone controls.
    * Headphone jack [which mutes the internal speaker].
    * Line Out jack for connection to external equipment.
    * Built-in spring reverb

    SOUNDS

Marshall sound their best with a Gibson guitar. Whether that be a Gibson Les Paul or an SG these amps just come to life when a Gibson is played through one of them. It appears that th two companies though on two different continents voiced their respective instruments according to one another.

I also like the way a Fender Stratocster sounds through this amp. Even though it is solid state it does have a decent enough tone for practicing at home or in an office. This isn't an amp I would ever take on stage but it will do behind the scenes.

    OVERALL OPINION

These amps have been fizzled out of production. So the used market is the only way to go at this point. I would suggest getting an all tube amp instead of this thing. There are plenty of all tube amps out there and even some Marshall's that will cost about the same as this amp is used. I would recommend Marshall JCm 2000 DSL 100 or a PEavey 5150 over this amp any day. You can go along way for about $500 if you look hard and study up on some proper gear.
