Everyone needs a great personal digital piano at home even if your are just learning this one will help you along the way fine. You could have some trouble finding one though unless someone on Craig list or eBay has one for sale because its an older model and no longer made by Casio. But im sure there are some online somewhere because people nev...
I like the cheesiness of the sound (for lack of a better word). I've heard these sounds and others like them used on lo-fi recordings with good results, and I've also heard them used on major label records as a nice contrast to a full-bodied sound. I won't say that this is something to learn how to play on, nor is it an acceptable alternative to...
While certainly more than cheesy, I actually really like the sounds that the Casio MT-45 has. Of course it’s all in it’s own quirky way, but you can built your own little song all right here. It’s a lot of fun to lay down and beat and use the bass and arpeggio to beef up whatever you’re playing on top of it. I’ve yet to incorporate this in an...
As far as I know, the Casio SK-1 is one of the first of it’s kind in terms of being a sampling keyboard. It’s a lot of fun to play around with, but for what I do I’m not sure it has any real musical value. Beyond the sampler, the built in sounds that it has are pretty cheesy, but I guess they are kind of cool in their own way, although I could...
One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the sounds that come out of this keyboard are pretty cheesy. The sounds are very fake, and unconvincing. Another thing is dynamics; since the keys aren't weighted like a piano, they don't really respond to dynamics very well at all, if at all. This makes it difficult to make a piano sound good, so I w...
Good value for money. A few presets sound good: panpipes, electric organ, etc. I give it a 5 because it can't compete with big synths but IT'S VERY GOOD for beginners.

The sound is okay but this keyboard wont get the job done for hip-hop this keyboard is more for a live musician. but the keyboard does have some great bass. i hated it so i sent it back and got my money i learned to do my research before buying the first thing i see. The BAD quality is what gives the SK-1 its charm and character... You pick it up, record thru its built-in microphone or via the LINE IN or the MIC IN, and it is instant fun The sound is very p...
It is very rare and it is a shame because it's really interesting to have in the home studio. We find the characteristic of this instrument on anything else. It is unique and therefore indispensable!
