Canadian Palette Gear debuted on KickStarter a new campaign for their Palette modular and configurable USB surface control.
Palette is a modular USB control surface designed for any user who want to add to their mouse and/or touchpad compact hardware modules to control software parameters. Palette can be useful to DJs, computer-based musicians, design and more.
Palette features a USB power module with built-in OLED screen that displays the name of the controlled software, and you can choose and combine 3 types of modules: buttons, encoders and sliders, each with 2 RGB LEDs that can also be programmed.
The modules are completed with a software configuration app for Mac, PC and Linux, that will be used for manual parameter mapping or preset loading. Palette Gear adds that Palette is currently working with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Mixxx, but the compatibility should soon be extended to the full Adobe Creative Suite, Traktor, Ableton, Spotify, Google Maps and more (you’re invited to submit your suggestions).
Palette modules are available in two versions with wood (KickStarter limited edition) and brushed aluminum finish. Depending on the number of modules that you choose, pricing range from CAD $89 (3 modules) to CAD $599 (19 modules, wood limited edition). If the project is successfully funded on KickStarter, Palette should be available in June, 2014.
