Nektar Technologies will introduce tomorrow at NAMM its very first 88-key controller keyboard, the Impact LX88.
The Nektar Impact LX88 completes the range of MIDI keyboard controllers with DAW integration of the Californian brand, which already features 25, 49 and 61-key models.
Just like the other Impact keyboards, the LX88 is a USB MIDI controller that benefits from the DAW integration. Mappings are ready for Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Digital Performer, FL Studio, GarageBand, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Reaper, Reason, Studio One and Sonar, and templates are available for Ableton Live and Pro Tools.
Thanks to this integration, you can navigate in the tracks, control the mixer and virtual instruments, trigger preset loop points, enable/disable the metronome, etc. On selected DAWs, a Grab function allows for mapping to any controls multiple instrument setting at once on the fly. Last, 5 presets are available for saving custom GM MIDI setups with MIDI-Learn compatible software.
Speaking of controls, the Impact LX88 feature 9 faders, 9 control buttons, 8 knobs, 6 transport buttons, 8 velocity-sensitive pads, a footswitch input, a MIDI output and pitch bend/modulation wheels. A small display is also included and the 88 semi-weighted keys support Split, Layer, semitone and octave transpose.
The Impact LX88 will be available late February for suggested price of 289,99 € / $329.99. It will ship with the PreSonus Studio One Artist DAW.
