UTILIZATION

The first grip ergonomics can be confusing indeed handle V requires a period of adaptation compared to other models from other brands but it goes quickly and force requestioner his left hand position. For solos is perfect, the thumb is placed very well. Access to acute is very easy, no worries. The knobs, serrated, are very simple to use.
The guitar is super well-balanced, it does not address in front (flying V). Ergonomics is very good whether sitting position (Les Paul or "classic") or standing. I did not find super heavy.
The sound comes quickly ... volume knobs to bottom!

SOUNDS

Replica guitar Dimebag Darrell (standard tuning, when cowboys and vulgar), it is cut for big sound metal. You can try it for something else but it gives its full extent in the large style, very big rock.
Bill Lawrence is huge, it brings a monstrous grain. The neck pickup is doing well too.
The clean sounds are fairly flat, sometimes cold. The micro Dean brings a little roundness. In all cases it remains accurate. May need to be thinking add effects (Me: reverb, chorus and delay)
For overdrive is more complicated, the high output pickups (especially that of the L-500-XL) may not offer a lot of variations. Play, "knobs" in full song it's complicated
In contrast to the distortion is perfect, precise, well-defined. The guitar will leave you to work your sound with your amp or pedal.
This guitar is made to send the wood.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this guitar in 2008. Since I only play on Dean ML and this one with me everywhere. Pantera fan, it was a teen dream. I tried and play on other guitars (Flying V, SG, Strato) but since I came across it all the other guitars seems bland. I love everything about it: its looks, its ergonomics and of course the micro Bill Lawrence. Takes you, and you plug the (saturation) is huge.
What I love is the ease with which we play over and that it renders the character of the amp. For metal that is a reference. Against by not looking to do with funk.
I play stoner. Granted dropped C on randall 50w lamps, it is perfect.
Bought € 900 at the time, I would say that the price / quality ratio is good, on the other hand, with the experience I remake this choice without hesitation.
