Fairly Confusing Waveforms introduces Electric Noisebow, a sample library for Kontakt designed to generate drones, ambiences and distortions.
Electric Noisebow is not a regular guitar library, though it’s based on a Reno electric guitar played with an e-Bow (an electric bow). The developer describes the library as an “imaginary instrument” with with you can create soundscapes, drones and ambiences.
Electric Noisebow features two sample sets, one with clean sounds and sustains, the other with distorted sounds. Processing the recordings also resulted in a selection of 20–30 second noise loops.
The custom GUI for Kontakt features a dual convolution reverb that can be used for sweeping between reverbs and the different sounds, a note doubler and a round robin mechanism that is synched to the transport controls.
In total, Electric Noisebow features 34 samples in 24-bit / 88.2 kHz WAV and the library for the full version of Kontakt 4.2 and later, only weighs 220 MB.
Electric Noisebox is available as a donationware ($1 minimum) at Bandcamp, you can listen to a demo at waveforms.fairlyconfusing.net.
