Minnetonka Audio Software has announced the newest member of the SurCode family with the first public demonstration of its DTS-HD solutions.
SurCode for DTS-HD consists of an encoder and decoder plug-in pair:
- SurCode Encoder for DTS-HD for Compressor
- SurCode Decoder for DTS-HD for QuickTime
The SurCode Encoder for DTS-HD for Compressor is an audio encoder plug-in for Apple Compressor 3, capable of producing encoded streams directly from Apple Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio. The encoder plug-in can create .dtshd encode types, from DTS-HD Master Audio found on Blu-ray Disc titles, to lower bit rate DTS Express, a Bonus View and BD live codec. It can also encode DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS Digital Surround bitstreams at sample rates of 48 kHz and up to 6.1 channels, according to Minnetonka.
Pricing & Availability
SurCode Encoder for DTS-HD for Compressor retails for $249 and includes SurCode Decoder for DTS-HD for QuickTime.
SurCode Decoder for DTS-HD for QuickTime can be purchased separately for $29.
An official release date of May 31st has been set and both products will be available directly online.
