The idea to make iOS devices and computers communicate via USB did not only grow in the Secret Base Design lab, AppBC also thought about it…
And they are debuting Midimux, a app that allows for sending MIDI data between your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and your Mac by using a simple USB/Lightning or 30-pin cable (no version for Windows yet).
Here’s what Midimux can do:
- Control iOS apps from hardware devices connected to the Mac
- Sequence and play iOS apps from your Mac DAW
- Control Mac apps or hardware connected to the computer via Lemur, TouchOSC or any other MIDI app
- Use iOS apps to play and sequence hardware instruments connected to the Mac
- Create virtual MIDI ports that will be mirrored on the Mac or other iDevices
- Connect multiple iDevices to one Mac and exchange MIDI between them
Midimux is available for 9.99 € / $9.99 at the AppStore, an audio version called Audiomux is also expected soon.
