The Korg Legacy Collection was easy to install, it did take a while for it to install though. I figure its because it’s a bigger program than most of the other ones that I have installed recently. But after it finally got finished I was able to start using it right away without a manual. I did come back and read through the manual just to understand a few things but I probably wouldn’t haven needed the manual I just got tired of the trial and error stuff (which I tend to do with almost every program and device or equipment that I get)
But the manual is cool, not too hard to navigate through and its not a big thick book either. All you have to do is find what you are looking for in the table of contents go right to that page and it will explain everything.
All of the basic functions of the Korg Legacy Collection are easy to use and setting it up in my main program was pretty quick and easy. It did take up a lot of my cpu on my laptop though. But my laptop is old and isn’t made to handle a bunch of stuff at the same time. So when I installed it on my quad core it ran great and my cpu was really low as usual.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE


Very stable, I havent had any freeze ups with it since I have been using it. I have been using it for a few months now and I love it. Everything seems to run great and is very stable, which is no surprise coming from a company like Korg.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I recommend to get it because its very easy to understand and I love the M1 software synth features. It comes with around 400 or more patches and a ton of effects that even someone who has been producing for a while will appreciate. I have heard you can purchase more plug ins for it? So eventually I will see what all Korg has to offer or I will upgrade when its available. Korg Legacy is great.

RAS Installation, registration and registration for the license at Korg are a little more difficult but not insurmountable.
Pdf manual in English, clear.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

CM Config Asus Rampage II Extreme, Intel Core i7 920, 6GB of RAM, all under Windows 7 64-bit and a RME Fireface 800 sound card. So a priori good performance ...
The software works fine on this config and you notice is its main feature is the only one in my suite that does not put me any problems either in standalone, Cubase or Pro Tools Essential 5 9. Stability copy!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and a half.
I have tried many other demo.

The pros:
- Stability
- No measurement available, but a priori it consumes few system resources
- Number and quality of the presets (FYI I have never used the original M1 so I can not make a comparison at this level)

The -:
- Out of the presets, it is difficult to "create" the sound by changing various parameters, even if it is not the primary purpose of the soft
- Working window non-resizable
- I would have liked a little more variety and originality in the presets of the Wavestation although the sound quality is impeccable

In the end good value / price for a software "plug and play" in all situations.
This choice I would do without hesitation.

I prcise I leave a notice on the M1 only.

Almost easy instalation you should take the key to register online, enter code, for me is a galre and I'm not sure that would prevent piracy, it's more a usb slot that already made two jumps with my cubase.
I really do not encourage these new devices especially as I had several error messages from Syncrosoft, the security center but I do not want to be solely responsible.

Other than that our new synth is nicely packaged in a range cd (griff Korg!) Is a little gift, it is true that the CD-ROM 150 is a little con s'trouve at the time, all delivered with a small quick guide on a little card!? See a more ... prs

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

... Lanon our new host, the installation was fast, it's a good point, that the new M1 dressed all in black that appears. A view has Premire seems simple and clear enough and in a few minutes to confirm the impression: the synth Has Designed extremely well on the ergonomic point of view.

I'll just say that the pianos are too typs I'm not saying they are bad but they lack charm. Any fawn I have never heard a piano sound correctly on a software and I do not know if the FX are there to arrange the matter.
If not for the rest I think Korg has done its work, the possibilities are endless for me is a great source of inspiration and a deep level I sometimes spend hours on it.

So I know if I rpondu some questions arise elsewhere is thundering that there is no opinion yet, that's why I post.

OVERALL OPINION

I have since October 2006, is stable and low fuel consumption: it's perfect.

What we must remember the M1: it is simple, efficient and intuitive it is therefore essential: to make music good god! I understand that does not deliver notice with ... Now is what I would do the same choice? can be seen not as Kompakt interests me greatly but it is clear that the M1 is so far my best synth both the intuitiva only remaining option for me Ingals.
I say we have done a pure Russianness in terms of the formulation like the DX7 and other and this time it's the Korg and srieux.

This VST installed nicely and quickly and has worked nicely on both of my computers. I have used it on a low end computer (1.8GHZ pentium and 1gb ram) as well as my current (2.5GHZ Core2Quad & 4GB ram) and it runs equally as brilliant on both. The lbirary is easily accessable and nice to use, a breath of fresh air from other VST's that opt for dropdown menus that can't be scrolled in Ableton Live. It works nicely in both of the DAW's that I use, Ableton and FL Studio.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

This software works well in both of my DAW's and performs admirably. There is a huge bank of sounds available and they all load near instantly. The CPU load is pretty low too so there is no problems with stacking up sounds. The memory usage is also low for a VST of the nature that it is, it has hundreds upon hundreds of preset sounds in the library. It is remarkably stable too, I have never found any crashes using soley this VST. I have been using it for a couple of months now.

OVERALL OPINION

I love some of the sounds on offer from this VST, they are thick and somewhat juicy. However the acoustic sounds on offer are remarkably dry and sound boring. Some of the sounds are pretty low quality too. There is a problem I have found using this vst, the sounds don't save in unless you double click on the library instead of just the single click to load the sound. Also, sometimes the VST will pick the wrong sound after you double click one of the sounds you want. It makes it a nightmare to find the sound you are looking for again through pages upon pages of sounds. I would still get this VST though knowing what I know now.

I have had no compatibility issues with this plugin so far on my Macbook. I have not needed to use the manual as the synths included are similar to other plugins I have used. The general configuration is fairly simple to setup. If you have used any sort of korg synthesizer before, that will help. Yes, all the typical functions are easily accessed via the interface.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I run these synths in Ableton 8 and Logic 9 and so far they have performed without a hitch. They have never crashed or crashed my DAW's and all of my presets are always stored and recalled without any problems. The software works great with all of my midi controllers. Unfortunately I do not have the X/Y axis controller found on many Korg Synths on my midi controller but I can assign those parameters to two separate sliders so its all good. I give it a 10 out of 10 for performance. I have been using these for about 3 months.

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most about these synths is now I have all my favorite Korg sounds (they make the best pad/ambient sounds on the market in my opinion) without having to lug around any heavy keyboards. I used to own the Korg TR 88 but sold it. I was really missing a lot of the pads until I picked up this package. There is nothing I don't like about these plugins. I paid $150 bucks for this package and its worth every penny. The quality of the sound is one of the main reasons to buy this. They sound really great and are as warm as any digital Korg sound can be. I have used many different plugins for synth sounds and these synths get used quite a bit, especially for texturing. Yes, I would definitely buy this package again.
