Rdition the legendary yellow pedal appeared in the First half of '70.
Like all sries limits and "vintage" from MXR, manufacturing is above all soupon. As components of the highest quality and assembly "hand with ten fingers."

USE

A pedal two pots: one for the volume (output level if you prfrez) and one for the amount of distortion. What more imple but also more effective? Especially when the rglage the amount of distortion, as is the case here, show progressive hyper and allows a variety of shades.

SOUND QUALITY

So it happens that I have this pedal possd the late 70's and I'm not going to please the madmen vintage or those trying to sell their 200 and mod the original: this is clearly Superior rdition the original! And yes, no luck! Especially it is found less than 130, in pdf, Holland (Rock Palace).

Besides, this, it might be time to arrter with this fantasy of vintage gear. Honestly when I listen to guitar sounds on disk groups of 60s and 50s WORST, it really gives me no, but then really do not want to buy a Strat, a LP or Fender or Marshall amp. NOTICE GLOBAL

I have possd possde and many pedals overdrive and distortion and I test more (normal when you have 55 years !!!). This distortion + 73 Vintage Reissue is aussitt buy, become my distortion prefers. Solo, she offers her singing reacts perfectly rglage tonality of the guitar (I love putting Tone "zero" with distortion), makes no noise (that is one of the quietest in my arsenal) and bnficie sustain a standard that becomes infinite if a compressor torque (Dyna Comp in my case). Despite all the sound is "clean" (yes, that's amazing for a distortion, I know! But I hopes to you understand what I am trying to explain), "right" and never to liter bourr between the notes and harmonics.
In short an absolute must that needs to throw as it is available (well, that date -09 / 2012- it just came out).

OD with a maximum gain not very high (more than a hair my TS-9) but with a level against very Release (too) result. In addition to traditional settings (gain, tone, volume) it has an active boost frequency 100Hz and a switch "Bump" that boosts the mids.

UTILIZATION

RAS on use. The switch "bump" once engaged ... the rest. Makes you wonder why we can cut it.

SOUND QUALITY

The effect is really in the style I like, fat but more accurate than my TS-9. It happens to have a law with its more active and bump the tone almost background.
Rather reagent volume on the guitar and especially sensitive to the type of microphone used. I prefer it with a good humbucker a little fat (Alnico V).

OVERALL OPINION

Bought misery (35 € on a classifieds site well known ...) it quickly became my standard OD. It sounds really easy to get and most importantly, that all sound! It responds very well to boost upstream, it is compact and quite nice to look at.
All this is positive.
Negative: the indicator of "Bump" blinding (a blue LED that sends really more than the red start!) 9V jack on the side, and the obligation to unscrew 4 screws to mount or remove a battery. Well, I'm using it with a power supply but it can be painful.
In short, I would reiterate again, even by paying more than what I paid for mine!

OD vintage guitar ... but not that.

UTILIZATION

I use it for my bass and the gain provided by the OD is ideal. It does not overflow. There may very OD pedal for bass. I had the Boss ODB-3 for a while but I found it too synthetic.

Big fan of MXR, I find always perfect work at home.
I wanted slightly dirty sound of my bass, and well with this Modified OD is successful as I like.

UTILIZATION

Great opportunities for overdrive: 4 knobs for respectively controlling the levels of volume, tone, gain and a cutoff frequency at 100Hz. Adds a switch "Bump".

SOUND QUALITY

As its name suggests, this effect is a Badass Distrosion modified Overdrive.
But an overdrive on vitamins and has a rare amount of settings for this type of effect. The combinations are endless and reveal a multitude of sounds, all perfectly usable, are possible. Huge advantage over all the overdrive I know for having tried or heard. That makes this a versatile Badass Modified OD pedal.
The sound quality is, in my opinion, excellent. Grain rather I have to write-grain procured by the rich musical effect remains. It is a pleasure to note that all settings offer real and significant changes. The "Bump" grows remarkably sound, adding warmth to the effect, pushing the bass and lower midrange: perfect when playing at low volume or for home recording studio.
Setting the cutoff frequency is a rare efficiency and changes color drastically and the overall balance of sound.
You can imagine without difficulty all possible combinations, be it by playing the "100Hz" and "Bump."
The gain shows comfortable background and the pedal is discrete: very little breath even at maximum. The pedal can accurately adjusting guitar volume even with the gain in depth, to get a clean sound. Another remarkable thing: the compression provided by a high gain setting does not prevent the notes to express themselves fully. You never get it "crashed" character that seems to stop the true resonance of a note as is most often the case with other overdrive.
Here is a pedal with a strong personality, but so far, that will find the desired sound. And it's actually quite rare to find an effect that has its own brand of sound factory without imposing sound more or less fixed by dint of being typed. I use this, as always, with Les Paul and Stratocaster and with equal success. It should also be noted that the Custom Badass Modified OD let the guitar speak and sounds obtained with a Les Paul is not absolutely the same as those provided by a Strat. That's rare enough to emphasize. I guess like me you have all experienced an OD or distortion that sounded substantially the same way, either with humbucker or single.

OVERALL OPINION

This is my overdrive pedal reference, even compared to the model-great-GT-OD brand. Many settings and richness of different grains are a versatile tool that adapts to many situations. Equally at home in solo and rhythm (she always keeps a good definition even gain background) is a Swiss Army knife! One commentator talking about "class" and that is exactly what he is. As always with MXR, it is a great personality but the music never suffers because it is primarily the fingers that build sound.

UTILIZATION

This is clearly an overdrive, with a maximum rate of gain fairly low. Reserve volume, however, is quite important. A 0 gain, the sound is not completely clean.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal has a very personal tone color, a lot of grain but different like TS. It produces few acute, which gives an impression of dynamic a little behind on clean sounds. This is far from anemic though and the sound is very warm, but it is difficult to get a super slamming her (with a TV maybe, but I'm allergic to TV, not type).

I lutilise for 3 months (purchasing exports to us well before to have him here ) and am totally happy with my purchase it has a very good grain, just as I love vintage and I forget almost my TS9!
short do not buy it sucks! (with a bit of luck if I believe I am the only one to have!)
