Native Instruments just released a free update that brings various improvements to all products based on the award-winning GUITAR RIG 3 software.
The latest version offers enhanced performance and compatibility, as well as an additional amp model for the recently released XE version of the software.
With the addition of the powerful BASS PRO amp, owners of GUITAR RIG 3 XE and GUITAR RIG SESSION now command an extended sonic arsenal with six amp models overall. Further improvements for all GUITAR RIG versions include optimized performance with reduced CPU consumption, Pro Tools compatibility under Mac OS X Leopard, extended documentation and a wide range of detail optimizations and fixes.
The 3.1.1 updates for GUITAR RIG 3 and GUITAR RIG 3 XE are now available as free downloads for all registered users on the NI website.

Native Instruments announces GUITAR RIG 3 XE Software.
Native Instruments announced GUITAR RIG 3 XE, a new version of its GUITAR RIG software. Offering an arsenal of emulated gear at a more affordable price, GUITAR RIG 3 XE is specifically designed for modern guitarists who want to perform and record with uncompromising audio quality regardless of their budget.
Based on Native Instruments' Dynamic Tube Response Technology, GUITAR RIG 3 XE provides the same tonal authenticity and "tweakability" as GUITAR RIG 3. A selection of five tube amplifier models, 12 classic cabinet types and 21 different effect units offers a wide range of sonic possibilities, all accessible through GUITAR RIG's typical "virtual rack".
Other practical features of GUITAR RIG 3 XE include dual tape decks, metronome, tuner, a special Live View for stage use, and a convenient preset database that comes with more than 150 ready-to-play guitar tones accommodating all kinds of playing styles and musical genres.
