    Very, very good apartment amp

    Vox Mini3Published on 11/29/14 at 04:20
3W modeling amp with several effects included.

Guitar input, one microphone input, aux input and one headphone output.

    Use 9/10
Very simple configuration, the user's manual is okay, very good sounds (especially clean).

    Sound 8/10
It's more than enough to practice anything in an apartment. Personally, I prefer the clean sounds, but the modelings also allow you to get nice distortions.

I use it with a Gibson Les Paul with P90, as well as a semi-hollow body Aria.

Very handy: A neutral Line input allows you to use it with a multi-effects while using the amp emulations.

It can be powered with six AA batteries (but I haven't tested it). Not bulky at all.

    Overall opinion 9/1…

I've been using this amp for nearly two years, it's excellent for use in an apartment.
I've had a Blackstar ht-1R for a couple of days and, unfortunately, I prefer it to the Vox mini 3 by far...

Very good value for money, I would surely buy it again.

    It does what it should

    Vox Mini3Published on 07/12/14 at 12:02
    Features 7/10
Type: Modeling pedal disguised as an amp with a small and well-chosen speaker.
Power: Low volume but big sound
Connections: IN + Aux (mic/switchable loop)
    Controls and effects:
Different mixes of well-chosen well-known amps + cabinets.
    Classic Rev/Dely/Mod/Comp effects.
Despite being small, the PA stage includes something to adjust the volume and tone.

    Use 8/10
It's easy to dial in because it resembles a real full-fledged combo.
The manual is short but comprehensive enough.
It sounds fine almost all the time (if you bear in mind that it's an

    Sound 7/10
I have tested it with all my guitars and basses including the
direct loop (with TC-ditto-looper or ZoomG1Xon-loop)

I like it, it does the job, the sound is never lousy and
it's sometimes very good (despite the size of the speaker).

    Overall opinion 7/10
    Two years of use.
I love its quality+volume/size+weight ratio, it's very good for my back and neighbors.
To play in a home studio I prefer the Blackstar-ID-TVP-15 but
the latter is six times as heavy and isn't carry-on sized :D)

    Great for home use

    Overall opinion 8/10
I've been using it for almost two years. It's ideal to play at home, to give or take lessons, it's a true mobile amp.
Before buying it, I tested the Roland microcube, but I preferred the vox due to the realism of the sounds.
The only negative point may be the fact of not having a true clean sound, without crunch, at high volumes.
Small, mobile, full of different sounds, I would buy it again without any problems.

    Finally not so bad

It is a transistor amp with all models.

Mic Input (for singing) I have not tried
Entry "Line" handy to put an MP3 player or a drum
Output line to take out the sound to a PA or PC sound card

No effects loop and ca I missed to put a loop station because the latter serves as my guide and metronome rhythm goes wrong in this amp, it gives a sound kick in a rusty trash.

Power is a fair bit in the clear (I do not use the distortion) but it is good enough to cover his archtop acoustics.

There is a compressor that I find very useful and can be remotely exploitable reverb but for the rest I'm not a fan effects.

There is a compressor that I find very useful and can be remotely exploitable reverb but for the rest I'm not a fan effects.

    UTILIZATION

At first I was surprised by a very annoying breath, even unplugged jack, more as soon as I used a sound effect very significant artifact made the amp unusable (I'm not manic but not let it buzzz).

I tried to find the solution.

Instead of the little 9V provided I put another 9V but also bigger and heavier retrieved from a network router, and the breath is illico reduced, it remains a bit but you can easily reach the forget.

In addition I put a jack high quality between the guitar and the amp and small artifacts farewell dice we used effects.

I confess to not having read the manual.

    SOUNDS

The sound is quite limited by the diameter of HP (its a bit hollow) but it's still okay to work on even manages to be fun. I have not tried because I do not use distortion that sounds.

I play at the moment on an Ibanez artcore ag 75 and I want a jazz sound.

To get a good clean sound but I really struggled moeleux and I still mess. I advise initially (it is a base and then we affine) to bottom on the treble side neck humbucker but the volume knob on the guitar rather than the middle and especially not at the bottom, in contrast to the tone the amp back in the bass (left) the volume of the amp but the gain back almost to zero for a crunch almost absent (but not quite) and then try several simulations if you want more crunch down on the amp volume up and the gain can also refine the knobs on the guitar and the tone of the amp.

If I have to give ONE advice is to take a jack high quality, it makes the sound more than I would have thought at the beginning.

The AC30 is simultaneously interesting and BTO clean, the rest I get from time to apreciate and sometimes not because I can not find the adjustment pil hair works.

    OVERALL OPINION

I month, this is my first amp.

What I like most is that even with rechargeable batteries it has a good battery and a volume and you can enter a mp3 on input line to accompany and ca be properly mix with the sound of guitar.

I regret the lack of effects loop, the transformer too light, too little hp to give a true sound. But above all this breath which you can not get the amp really close to home and suddenly we want to play a little harder and HP does not follow.

I did not know what to take so I bought blindly, since I have an idea a bit more specific about what I want.

I feel like I would have done better to put a little more expensive but I would have fallen far worse and this amp has allowed me to mature my plan to buy a second.

At first I hated this amp but it goes I will discover the charm ... must be tamed.

I have mixed opinions regarding the sound. It's quite all right for this type of amp, but it's all relative. The independent mic input (with reverb) is quite all right. It's nice to be able to sing and play at the same time.
The amp's main strength is that the choice of sounds is very wide. Each of the 11 amps is very particular.
Do note that it's a bit noisy.

    Overall opinion 6/10
It's really hard to have a strong opinion about it. You can't expect a product like this to have an awesome sound. I'd say this is an excellent mobile amp. It has everything you need for such applications, it's even hard to find anything more comprehensive: Sounds, effects, mic input.
On the other hand, for a fixed installation it's quite limited. You can easily find something better and cheaper.

Sweet tones on a lunch box amp

    Vox Mini3Published on 04/27/11 at 13:22
This is the exact same amp as the standard black mini3 from Vox. This one just has a different tolex covering. The ivory tolex is very nice and a good touch for this small little amp. All of the standard features and operation is inside this amp as well. Also there is no up charge for the ivory color either. I like that Vox has offered several different color combos for the personal consumer's taste.

Nice little rehearsal jamming amp. Great bedroom playing or office playing amp! It has a nice usable distortion tone and of course a very clean chiming Vox style clean tone. For what this unit is built to do, it does very well indeed.

Try this amp out with a Superstrat of some kind to get some good single coil tones as well as the humbucking tones. This amp is pretty versatile with the 11 amp models to choose from as well as the built in effects. I personally like the Cali Metal amp model which is based off of the Mesa style grind. It has a Mesa voicing with the Vox approach which is very cool an unique.

    OVERALL OPINION

With its on board tuner and effects all you need is your guitar and maybe some headphones for quiet home or office jamming sessions. Not going to be an amp that you would record with or even play a gig with but for practice and jamming on the go ti is light portable and simple. Not a lot to it but plenty of tonal options for only $100 for a new one.

I would recommend this amp to anyone needing a quiet amp for light practice at home and silence is an issues. It sounds very Vox-ish and gets all those classic tones from the British based company along with new modern tones for high gain territory.

    Not need the manual.
This gives a good sound (relatively speaking) quite easily, but we must make adjustments.

Ben's why you buy an amp eh!
I compared with a pathfinder 10 in stores, tested in good condition. I already tried the micro cube, neither convinced me. The vox mini 3 is for me the best small amps.

I will not spend every model under the microscope, what interests me is to have its own, which has body and shiny clear: it is easy to find. In crunch, it's pretty, it is also in saturation and distortion, inevitably, that a little fishing in the bass but it works well.

I had a fender twin reverb, 1976, I currently have a Laney LC50 all-tube, I have an idea of what good sound. The mini3'est not a tube amp 100 watts and was not necessarily the same sound is not as pretty. I'm not a fan of modeling, but I recognize that there is convincing, but do not expect to really have the sound of amps as a reference, it sure is rough.

Then, the different sounds of the guitars are met: single or double coil, we feel the difference, I plugged my Les Paul and my Ibanez, the guitar sound is used very well respected.

The volume is sufficient to be heard far if we play in the street, and the sound is stable when we play hard.

    OVERALL OPINION

Used for a week, the vox mini3 is good for its portability (it's mainly why I bought it), the next he sounds pretty fate. You have to make adjustments, but we manage to bring out a good sound, very versatile. More practical than my tube amp when I'm too lazy to turn it on (warm, lots of noise for the neighbors).

It is an effective tool for extra holidays and guitar lessons or not to annoy people when we want to play at 3am. But my real amp, vox mini3 can not replace it, logical.
