Puremix has just opened up applications for an upcoming one-day mixing masterclass with Grammy winner Fab Dupont to be held on May 22nd, 2016.
According to Puremix, this masterclass is different from others in the sense that Dupont won’t just be walking his trainees through a mix, but in the morning session he’ll review every student’s best mix and offer the whole class suggestions on how to improve their mixes while in the afternoon he is to mix from scratch a modern rock song, “Face Your Fear or Die” by Vifolly, while answering questions and pointing out tips and tricks as he mixes.
As soon as you’re accepted to the masterclass, you’ll be given the same stems Fab will be working from so you can familiarize yourself with the tracks, giving an opportunity to directly compare your mix decisions and workflow to his using a song you’ve had the chance to mix for yourself ahead of time.
The masterclass is to be held at New York City’s Flux Studios on May 22nd, 2016, and enrollment fee is $990. Space is limited to 16 students and the deadline for applications is May 9th. More details are available here.
