The Paiste Signature Dry Ride is my favorite paiste ride, and I have played almost all of them.  My biggest fault with the sound of many Paiste cymbals is that they are too wet, too bright, and too powerful.  This cymbals corrects these problems (or rather, differences in preference).  It has extremely pronounced stick definition, producing great sound even at lowest of volumes.  It is so delicate at times, but can be crashed hard as well.  At all dybnamic ranges, this cymbal truly excels.  Its bell is great, extremely dark and warm.  The whole cymbal is pretty dark and, like its name implies, dry.  It isn't as dry as uncoated older Zildjian jazz cymbals or anything, but it is dry enough to be played in many different settings.

This cymbal looks great, like many other Paiste Signatures.  The biggest problem with its appearance is that it will stand out as being the most brilliant cymbal in the setup.  It responds very well to fast playing, giving each individual note its share of attention.  Few rides can do this as well as the Paiste Signature Dry Ride.  From rock to pop to jazz, this cymbal is where its at.  i have only ever played this at a local studio, but it is literally at the top of my "to get" list.  Once i started to think Paiste was only good for crtain types of music, this changed my mind in the best way.

This cymbal will last forever, and the coating protects it very well.  It sounds amazing, but you have to pay for it.  While it is one of the best rides I have ever heard, it is also one of the most expensive rides I have ever heard.  I suggest this 100% if you are looking for a well balanced ride from a respectable line.
