Used couple for taking his video report with Zoom H4N
Moods of nature, acoustic concerts, performing arts ... once you have found the right location reproduction is faithful, except close to the edge, because of the plosives or low frequencies of a bass drum, but over head drum they are doing quite well in this price range

I did not try a lot of little microphones but I had the opportunity to work with AKG, Shure, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser and many others and I think the price / quality ratio is more that excellent!

No, I followed the advice on Audiofanzine for purchase at the time.

What is so special that you love the most, least?
The +
* Detail and sensitivity (I have not tried others)
* Versatile on the side that I recorded until now

Excellent Mic. I bought this based upon a friends recommendation to record some scratch tracks for upcoming demos. After working with it, I found it to be very smooth and clean. I now use it for most recordings and highly recommend it to my recording customers. Once they hear the sound (I do use a tube preamp) they are blown away. This mic sounds more like the $2000 - $2500 price range of microphones. You should buy this. I did .... and bought a second! It will be in my mic locker for years to come.

The Rode NT5 is priced well and affordable for a good mic.. This cost me less than half of the amount of the expensive equipment that I had and I have better recordings out of the Rode NT 5 and TC Electronics Desktop Konnekt 6. I can say this because I have Auralex studio foam set up in a closet and I did have the SE Electronics Reflexion Filter when I was using the Neumann TLM 102 and M Audio Profire 610. I have a small closet filled with Auralex studiofoam, with an NT 5, and my Desktop Konnket 6, and I' am more than happy with them! This will save the time and money for the people who are new to home recording and make the people who have wasted money on other equipment more than happy. I suggest taking a intro to audio class for learning how to mix if you are new. It will help you understand the concepts, tools, how & why specific tools are used for mixing and mastering. After that you can learn on your own. It's all about practice. The Rode NT 5 is just one of the models that Rode makes and all of them are pretty good. But the Rode NT 5 will give you the best quality for the price!

This mic is only sold in pairs. Besides serial numbers in sequence. Thus for two couples were almost identical micro (a 1 dB according to the manufacturer ... prs)

OVERALL OPINION

I'm not a fan of micro rode. I tried the NT1, and NTK jenespluskelotre .... Bon rode the worst is when trying to micro lamp (NTK) for not too expensive. The lower and upper medium drool spectrum trs not defined or present. As for the NT1, blah.
For cons I was pleasantly surprised by the NT5. The sound is soft (not foil) and the high is measured and precise and with some heat in the medium (I tried on vocals and instruments).
It smells micro high-end (nothing to do with the static first price TSSS TSSS TSSS TSSS and then nothing else). A small correction and (not much) and ca you do the same job that a small capsule Neumann ... yes my good lady ...
S / N ratio trs good too.
I buy them without hesitation. Rode a good product.

Used for ropes and overhead batt, really good, sweet and warm with little corrections ...

I've also utiliss 4 for making room for the 5.1 and also not bad but a low cut t would be welcome ....

I have been a year and I am glad trs, I compared the pro37R audiotechnica and it's night and day ...

It is against a little less sensitive than 4041 audiotechnica but also prcis kazi ...

The report price is really top quality!

I would do but certainly I would compare this choice even when the studio project of the same kind ...

This is the pair of microphone Condenser to do everything! It is used to both acoustic instruments (drums, guitar, piano ...) for voice (with a pop filter), carrying with him an impressive clarity!

I have been using quelqie months now, and I am fully satisfied!
What I like in this pair of microphone is its versatility, clarity and accuracy in all circumstances! I see absolutely no downside because it is even sold in a protective carrying case with clips and hats.
Of course, I have tried any other such micro for now, but I simply great!
The price / quality ratio is exellent, it should really not hesitate, skip over it!

I use them for three days on a TL AUDIO C1 and pramp card presonus firebox preamp or RME, I've submitted a bunch of tests and configurations, I am fully satisfied about the results:
- In overhead drums, the pair captured the whole atmosphere, I have combines AKG D112 on the kick and decision dj is exploitable depending on the position, taken in jazz (NT5 for the hi hat + snare, NT5 (2) for the ride at tom bass + drums, D112 in the box) with an acoustic I correct an excellent grip. A SM 57 on snare can be used to add punch.
- On an upright piano, I just bluff your exact many things pass, and smoothly.
- A folk guitar is perfect, much better than my single BPM CR 73 II
- Making its atmosphere (inside / outside) is Fidler.
You can really have fun with investments, it's a couple prcis, sweet, balanced.

The report quality price (290 euros) is incredible, I worked six months with Neumann KM 184, frankly I do not see the advantage of dpense (both invest in a pair of AKG 414). More reliable and a prcis Oktava. For the price it's really super micro

It's been a few months that I use, my impressions are reinforced Premire day by day.

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for 2 years. I use it mainly to record the sound of amateur theater (which I also filmed: site of the band with extracts from documents ( http://www.grebz.fr/theatre/divers_theatre.php ) ).

My opinion is that I love! I hang above the stage at about 4m high, and from the control, I can hear the actors talk in whispers behind the scenes Ultra Sensitive ...

This is my first condenser microphones, so I discovered and love.
I like their quality of sound reproduction, fidelity, they look very fine, very elegant and also their versatility. I also used to catch the voice or guitar (in atmosphere in the room) and they always give a very good result.

The flip side of their sensitivity is that they do not forgive anything. Any extraneous noise will be faithfully recorded, but the opposite would be unforgivable!

Their price is quite high in absolute terms for an amateur like me, but given the results, I think it's justified (about 300 euros new). They come in a briefcase that looks like electric drills but stored in the foam and thus well protected, with their caps and adapters for microphone stands.
The only thing that bothers me is that you have a phantom power to save. Normal, of course, they are static, but I find it frustrating not being able to use it outside, to shoot a short film or delirium with pals ...

However, with a laptop and a self-powered audio interface (such Alesis I/O2 ( https://carte-son-externe.alesis.audiofanzine.com/produits/avis/index%2Cidproduit%2C56401%2Cmao%2Cio2.html ) ), it is possible to use outdoors without using a mixer. This is not the easiest or most convenient, but I do with what I have available

I made a comparison accurate (overheads, even offering, same room, without touching the settings of the slice, etc..) with two standard references: AKG C451 and Neumann KM184. nivo wholesale prices ac double each time (neumann = 2 times the price akg = 4 times that of Rode). frankly, the NT5 is doing more than well: the C451 is a bit brighter, but with a little eq mm was the thing with the Rode. when the neumann, they are a bit more neutral, but frankly the difference is not obvious finesse. So basically they provide, I have not found better than the NT5 in the same price, if one takes into account the product in its entirety: robustness, quality, versatility, etc.. perfect as a pair of static home studio when trying anyway sthg seriously.
WARNING: not recommended outdoors, there are really too sensitive to the breath / wind. ditto for a vote even with a antipop c limit, better a large diaphragm in mm price.

The Rode NT5s are a pair of small-diaphragm condenser microphones that I have used extensively in the studio, mostly on drums and acoustic guitars.

OVERALL OPINION

These mics are great as a stereo pair. While these aren't the Neumann KM184s, these little things are still great for drum overheads and acoustic instruments when you want that certain high end twang. I also have a pair of AKG C1000s and in my opinion these are a better bang for your buck. If I'm not mistaken, these have gone up a bit in price since I purchased them, which tells me that they are becoming more and more popular for a set of stereo small-diaphragm mics in project studios that maybe wouldn't be able to afford the Neumann KM184s. Compared to the KM184s, the price is outstanding and is a great bang for your buck. I believe I will hold on to these until I can afford a pair of KM184s.
