it's big 100 watts!
a transistor for me sounds better than the other transistor.
it 3 Channel (clean, distortion, master).

UTILIZATION

it really is super simple, easy to understand, no need manual.
it has a killer sound, hard to beat for a transistor!
It can be a little too low but its not in any gene.

SOUNDS

I would say that this amp is very suitable for metal, thrash, heavy, neo, rock, hard rock and everything that goes with it!
the clean is pretty cold and crystalline.
the crunch is very rock.
Overdrive is perfect for metal etc. ...
Master has three knobs to set the power, fx loop (which I find no hothouse nothing ^ ^) and reverb.
I play with a USA Jackson soloist SL2H is frankly the two make a perfect sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few weeks and it suits me perfectly.
I recommend this amp really, if I had to choose between a randall hughes and kettner and I choose the hughes kettner and without hesitation!

OVERALL OPINION

Tte excellent transistor amp! As you can see: the indoor lamp ZERO, by the way there's really not much when you open the bte, many many empty ... However, its huge for the transistor, it sends it on! A disto type too Hardcore Metal American, with knob "Voicing" which takes you to sound Punk HxC Panteresk sound. I prefer it with a good pedal lamp in between (like H & K tube or Vox Tonelab).
But hey, wholesale .. remember on this head: big sound, solid (and that's saying something), trs qualitprix good value!! disto but trs typ "big sound metal hardcore."

SOUNDS

So, I use a Fender Stratocaster copy of 1975 with a Korg AX1500G.
The clean sound is excellent, really in the lineage of the Blue Edition of the same brand, obviously this is not the lamps, but it is exceptional for a qd same transistor.
The distos are rotten, for against, even my little 40-watt onquest the distortion is better, but I use distos not, so I pass this point
The reverb is good up to half.
Power is monstrous, really H & K in full. repeating with a drummer Bourin I use it not even half of its power.
It's not a Fender, do not even expect qd slamming. But versatile enough

OVERALL OPINION

I've had earlier this month, but I was eyeing it for some time now.
A price which I bought for next to nothing, so yes, I do it again this choice easily

Hughes and Kettner is a company that has some stellar amps and combos and then a bunch of stuff that people really never know about. They have the staple amps such as The Coreblade, Duotone, and the Triamp and then they have amps such as this one that never really catch on. Many of these types of amps where a company goes of in a direction that is unfamiliar territory to them makes. This is one of those amps where it is a solid state amp and not a very good one. It does was it is supposed to do but it isn't something that I think a great company like Hughes and Kettner to do. Leave its to Vox and Marshall to make garbage solid state amps for the non professional

SOUNDS

Certainly this is not a bad amp when it comes to solid state amps but I guess I just don't expect thing like this from a great company like these guys. This is a three channel amp that has some great features and the overall tone is a pretty good one in this arena.

First you get a clean channel and that is generally pretty good on solid state amps. At least I prefer a solid state clean sometimes especially when we are talking about a Roland JC120. This is not JC120 quality and tone but it does a nice job for the price point. Next you have a crunch channel and this is good for classic rock tones such as The Who, some AC/DC, or even some LEd Zeppelin. This channel can even go all the way through the 80's hair metal days up through the garbage 90's when the didn't know what amp distortion was and to today's modern rock. The final channel is the lead channel and it is voiced for leads. It has a bite and good upper mid in the frequencies. It is also good for shredding and nu-metal type tones

OVERALL OPINION

These amps have long been discontinued so the used market is the only way to go. I would not suggest this amp. Hughes and kettner have some newer solid state amps that have more features and a general better all around tone. The tone of this is decent and if you can get it for around $100 then I'd go for it, but I would suggest the newest edition to the Attax family. That amp is where it's at as far as solid states.

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple,
Having bought this head used, I downloaded the manual on the manufacturer's website.
The manual is more than adequate and very well detailed.
So, I say congratulations! It deserves a 10!

SOUNDS

Used with a Samick KR-564 GPS-K, a Hagström Viking, or a Les Paul too.
I used it with several different speakers and Peavey and Marshall
live on the same console.

No nécessairemment metal in its sound. I use it for the cold-wave, with a little gain on the distortion, and sometimes delay the output, a pure delight.
The clean channel is very neutral and does not alter the sound of the guitar.
What is missing is the dynamic lights, it's still a full-transo is very flat, but suddenly, it's ideal if you want to attack him with an amp simulator like the PODxt live.
It grows when the master and therefore the power stage that restitution is the best. A low volume, it lacks a little body.

The crunch is very pleasant. pretty sweet too, but eyeing the side of the disto. I would appreciate lighter.

For distortion, it can get very nice sounds, very dirty, very runny putting little gain. By pushing, we get something faster more accurate for the metal, provided play in this style.
The sound is very nice.
Weakness for the reverb that is not terrible but if you have a good scratch, you can use it sparingly, it's just fine.

The sound is really good for a while transistor, but it has neither the dynamics nor the warmth of a tube amp, do not dream.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about a year and is one that suits me since I need an amp that does not distort the sound too much as I attack with imulation amp PODxt Live .
I tested quite a few other amp brands in the same price range, and it is one that is best for me. Much better than marshall the same price
The quality / price ratio is very good!
It looks very solid, and the look is downright pleasant.
The knobs are large enough and easy to handle because of this (Well done H & K).

Attention to the line-out, it does not go through the floor of equalization. So, when I want to attack directly the mixing console, I use an output speakers.

A minor complaint all the same!
When using the headphone jack, it has not even made in the equalization, the sound has a lot more (too well) severe and equalization is less effective. This is quite unfortunate.
Another negative point, the reverb at all to the height

If I had to redo this choice, given the budget I had, I would do without hesitation. If I had had more resources, H & K won Seeing me, I would look over a model and lamps, unless I fall for a Fender. But for now, I am fully satisfied with this amp! No reason for me to change.
