UTILIZATION

This guitar is a very "comfortable", I especially appreciate the fact that it is well balanced and upright is the best guitar I've tried.
The performance of the agreement is perfect and flawless violin.
Access to acute is easy but do not have too big fingers box in the 24th, there is not much room with jumbo frets.
Only downside: The volume knob is placed too close to the play area, advantageous when playing knob (violin) but quite annoying nag rhythm mode, the volume is lowered unintentionally, it took me a few months to get used to.

SOUNDS

This is a versatile guitar, the sound palette ranges from light to heavy saturation and each time with a grain gives it interesting personality. To summarize, you can play the blues on the neck pickup split, and you spend the hard rock on the bridge pickup.

OVERALL OPINION

Accustomed to vintage guitars (Telecaster, Les Paul) I sought one superstrate with a floyd to develop my game and I was not disappointed.
It's been 3 years since I used this guitar, the price / quality ratio is very good. I play regularly (every day) and I've never had any problems with.

ESP guitars are the hard rock or and metal guitars that many of today's artist go to for their guitar needs. This guitar is a very beautiful guitar on the top with its nice quilted maple laminate. This guitar has two humbucker pickups as well as a routed Floyd Rose tremolo system. These guitars are pretty solidly built guitars and they arw very comfortable to play.

SOUNDS

This axe features two hum pups that sounds very good and a high gain amplifier setting. These guitars aren't full of tone like you would find in a Fender Stratocaster or a Gibson Les Paul guitar. However it's going to be a nice rich tone as can be very suitable for most styles of music. This guitar cleans up pretty well and overall has a nice balance and feel for any type of music. The neck is very comfortable a play on and the action on the frets is very good too. Whatever amplifier you use with this guitar it's good to sound pretty good but it really comes to life with a nice high again amplifier.


OVERALL OPINION

You can find these guitars new for right at around $1999 which is a price point that is somewhere in the middle of a standard guitar and a custom shop guitar. It is a happy medium point for some consumers. Overall this is a cool guitar but if I would to spend this kind of money I would go with a Custom Shop Charvel. You can spend a few extra hundred bucks and get a CS and it will have a better neck and tone that matches better with more styles of music.

I am the happy owner of an esp horizon fr. It was manufactured in Japan. There are 24 frets and the hoop is correct. The configuration is two double duncan original sounding great. Vibrato is a floyd that works very well but I preferred to place two screws in the flat INSET floyd inserts type Allen keys. Indeed, when screwed or unscrewed with flat head screws, it tends to remove the paint that is on the screws and it's not the most beautiful effect with black hardware. Chromium are emerging of the screw. Having said that mine was very well regulated so I did not have to touch it. If you ever touch it and the chrome of the screw appears you can put some nail polish chrome black mask.
As for the tone volume settings, micro switch is happiness for those who like simplicity and I do. A 3-position selector gibson type under the two potentiometers. 1 for volume, one for tone, and it's all practice!
The neck is perfect, flat ebony fingerboard. open strings mound, it does not frieze and the strings are rather close to the handle.

UTILIZATION

Access to acute is very easy.
The ergonomics are good. The guitar is very light, the body is ash. In terms of form, it is a body type stratabound and was not done much better since. Except of course the shape of the head that is clearly oriented metal.
This gives a good sound easy but it can seem a might steep, probably because of the ash body. The wood is strong, clean-sounding. but push push splitter allows the microphones and you get to have a sound very similar to alder stratocasterien. This guitar is perfect for rock and metal styles. Now c'esty as any. You can do anything with. UTILIZATION

This guitar is amazing!
Premire surprise in the test:
the handle. It is highly accessible, super smooth (the two cots, as the key varnished
amazing). CHAC is the acute incroyabe (they could have added freight without any problem,
24 c but not sufficient? ,-P). I play by placing it lower than my old guitar
without losing speed!

It is quite lgre and little feeding.

UTILIZATION

Played open, the guitar is very fun to play! The neck is PERFECT! At least for me! I play mainly metal, more or less straight forward, with a predilection for the Hardcore. However, I like to do a Jazz from time to time. So I oscillate between these two styles of music far away ... So I had an extremely versatile guitar, now I have!

I use it for 3 weeks and I'm madly in love! I love everything about this guitar (sold in Case by the way), I tried tons and tons of models before but nothing beats the handle and versatility ... The quality / price ratio is really orgasmic, because the only guitar that rivals in this field is the PRS Custom 24, which is 2 times more!

This is a guitar that I use for exactly 1 year. I had tried in the store and I won t! it rpondait my requirements perfectly. Still, I try many of MODELS ibanez, jackson, etc. .... but she had the best sound. I recommend this guitar I find exceptional for this price! I would do gladly did!

This is probably one of most famous guitars that ESP has ever made aside from the M series. This is basically the M series guitar with an arched top. Highest quality available, made in Japan and OFR. With EMGs or sometimes with duncans as I've previously seen before.


UTILIZATION

Great guitar overall shape-wise, very comfortable to play. It has stomach contours on the back, and the neck thru body design allows easily access to the upper frets no problem.

The neck itself is thin but not like an ibanez wizard, not like a strat either. I'd say something in between.

The pickups are very well known so of course they sound good. Dozens of artists uses EMGs or have used EMGs before on previous records, tours etc.


Of course the OFR takes getting used to for those who don't have much experience with locking tremolos. But if you do have experience, then you know you're set and good to go with this one!

SOUNDS

This can be anything you want. Though yes it sort of is geared a bit more towards those who play with high gain or more than just bluesy type distortion. It sounds great for nearly everything that requires such high gain stuff.

You can achieve any metal sound from any band pretty much depending on the amp that you've got. The EMGs only do so much, but it definitely gets you in the ball park.

Harmonics come out very easily, everything is accentuated and all the good frequencies are emphasized. Sort of like boosting an amp.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is one of the industry standards for a metal super strat guitar. The arched top gives an extra bit of warmth and elegance to the look as well. The See through black cherry look is also very good. The Floyd is awesome you can do anything you want with it and it'll stay in tune. From those VH dive bombs to vai's weird stuff to dimebag's crazy pull ups! It's all doable!

The EMGs are also the industry standard high gain pickup. You can't go wrong with'em!

The only thing stopping this guitar from being perfect is the stupid logo at the 12th fret. It's so big, so ugly. Such a huge advertisement piece on your guitar, as if the guitar itself is not obvious enough that it's an ESP. I mean you're paying quite a bit of money for this guitar and you still have to have that huge ad on your guitar???

The ESP Horizon series usually comes with alder wings. However, for the USA guitars, they released a Horizon with mahogany wings, and I really think it improves the overall tone of the guitar. The guitar features mahogany wings with a figured maple top, maple neck-thru construction with an ebony fretboard, 24 extra jumbo frets, side square inlays with a 12th fret name inlay, an original floyd rose, two humbuckers, one volume, one tone and a three way switch.

UTILIZATION

The guitar is pretty much flawless in its construction. The frets themselves are perfectly level, and I was able to get some scary low action with this thing without it fretting out, even with big bends. The fret ends were nice and round, so they don't cut your hand while moving up and down the neck. The binding was top notch, and you can't even really see where it starts and stops. The guitar has an original floyd rose, so you have one of the best floyds out there on the market. About the only thing I could complain about is that it has a battery box, which means they carved out some of the wood for ease of battery changing.

SOUNDS

The guitar sounds absolutely huge. The EMG 81 in the bridge is perfect for this guitar. While neck-thru guitars can be really bright, the mahogany wings help mellow everything out and add some fatness to this. The EMG 81 in the bridge allows the guitar to cut, and the mahogany is there to keep everything from going haywire in the treble. The EMG 85 in the neck is super fat, and you can get some sick legato going on with this thing. The guitar isn't that great for classic rock or anything with low gain, but for high gain, this thing absolutely rips.

OVERALL OPINION

If you can find one of these at a good price, jump on it. It's one of my favorite guitars. It sounds great, feels awesome and has a perfect weight to it overall. The fretwork on the standard series is ridiculous enough to where the custom shop models almost don't even feel worth the coin...almost.

EMG81 microphones and 85 (Zack Wylde Kit)

UTILIZATION

Channel pleasant, I love the ebony fingerboard.
At the store, I found the strings too high, but after a stint at a luthier, it is quite correct. There is a way to blow up the "shredder" on it.

The guitar is rather light compared to the pachyderms like Gibson Les Paul.
Well-balanced guitar, the neck not sting the nose when you play standing (try the LTD Viper I found unplayable up ...)

Default: no muzzle ... Rockline Avenue with a lag, I used to play guitar with a groove!
But compared to my lag, this guitar is much more accurate, natural and artificial harmonics are much more easy way. For example, the natural harmonic in the second box, I perform well 1 out of 4 times with the lag, and with the ESP it sounds all the time!

For sound, I compared a model with micro Seymour Duncan (I forget which) with a model mounted EMG81/85. Being a fan of Slayer, Nostromo, Converge Dillinger Escape Plan or other, I fell for the EMG. The 81 kills distortion. on the other hand I find it super dry clear sound. The 85 has a less dry, less garish. More velvety. It is certainly not a Telecaster or a Stratocaster in his clear, but I think it's correct.

8 for the lack of versatility.
But no one buys an ESP to play jazz or blues, though!

SOUNDS

I play mostly metal and post rock above.
My amp is a Carvin XV-212.
The distos are excellent, clear sounds good but not transcendent. 7 for that.

OVERALL OPINION

5 months I play it. 15 years I play guitar.
I find it very enjoyable to play, I think I'm a guitar hero with LOL

I find very good value for money. I could pay 1000 euros more for this guitar.

She tapp in the eye, it has a terrible personality, which is expressed mainly in the metal. And besides it is really beautiful. Absolute class, dark red, round conductor!

I would do the same choice, against I'll have a telecaster or a stratum for clean sounds.

The ESP Horizon II FR is part of the Horizon series that ESP has had since the 80s. UTILIZATION

The fretwork on the ESP Standard series is usually pretty awesome. The frets are nicely leveled, have a good crown and aren't sharp at all. The neck itself is a fairly thin U shaped neck that's not quite as thin as the Ibanez Wizard neck, but it's fairly close. The binding is clean without any real flaws, the body feels awesome, and the finish is very stunning to look at thanks to its transparent red finish and quilted maple top. As always, these guitars sport an original floyd rose, which I happen to think is the best out of all the floyds out there.

SOUNDS

This guitar is an absolute metal machine. The EMGs in this thing just kill. The EMG 81 in the bridge creates this harmonically rich and bitey metal tone that can cut through the densest mix, and thanks to the mahogany wings, it helps thicken up what would otherwise be an overly bright guitar. The 85 in the neck gives a super huge, fat and powerful lead tone that sings for days. You can do crazy legato runs without any issues thanks to this pickup.

OVERALL OPINION

If you're in the market for a great metal great, definitely check this out. Some people may not like the arched top body compared to the M series, but I find it feels pretty nice. It gives it that almost Les Paul kinda feel at times. The biggest issue with these guitars is that they're fairly pricey. In fact, they're some of the most expensive in the Standard lineup. Because of that, I recommend trying to buy one used.
