I luckily won this guitar at a GuitarCenter giveaway, but it was selling for $1000 US.

Made in Japan. 24 frets. Volume control, tone control, and 5 way selector. Shiny sunburst finish. This guitar introduced me to the amazingness of Seymour Duncan JBTM TB4 and SHR101 Humbuckers. There are three of them, giving you a nice thick sound - great for metal or hard rock. Rosewood fretboard. Using it with a Marshall MG100 dfx and it sounds great - thick, full sound. Barely any feedback with these humbuckers. For metal music you can't really ask for something better.

Uses a floyd rose bridge - which means patience is needed when tuning! Nevertheless, once its in tune you are ready to rock out!

The action that was originally set-up with the guitar was perfect. Brought the bridge pickup a little higher so it was closer to the strings, but that was a very slight adjustment. The finish is very durable. The head bends back passed the neck and may require a little getting used to, but it poses no real dangers. The neck is a little narrower than I would normally expect, but it has its advantages.

I plan on using this gutiar live. It is very durable and has been reliable for practice. The finish is put on very well and it is very hard to scratch or chip it. Haven't broken a string yet, I would play live without a backup. I have been using this guitar for about 3-4 months. A great value if you are buying it, or even better if you are as lucky as me to win one!

I bought this first hand in guitar village for 200 pounds, i bought it as my first electric guitar.

i like this guitar because it is easy to play, and i think it is good value for the money i paid.

the problem i found was that the cheap pickups gave LOADS of feedback when ever the gain was turned up above 1 or 2.

Personally I think the quality of this product is good, considering the price paid. I dropped it and it didnt even go out of tune.

i think this is a great guitar for someone buying their first guitar. It may not be the best thing for someone who goes out playing in gigs though.

This is a MODEL SOLOIST manufacturing Japonnaise.

The handle is through (and it does not seem to cross!), Wide and thin (a little less than Ibanez same), 24 Jumbo frets trs well polished.

The pickups are Seymour Duncan vritables three: one in JB TB4 bridge, 2 doubles format simple SHR101 Hot Rail neck and middle. The five positions are slecteur: handle alone handle + medium; medium alone; middle + bridge, bridge alone.
It's been a nice little setup that can be a good Submitted p'tit everywhere.

The handle driver is maple, alder body and a flamed maple top of the most beautiful effect. Given the woods utiliss the guitar must be heavy! 6KG actually about and we are not far from the…

It's been a nice little setup that can be a good Submitted p'tit everywhere.

The handle driver is maple, alder body and a flamed maple top of the most beautiful effect. Given the woods utiliss the guitar must be heavy! 6KG actually about and we are not far from the weight of a Gibson. Unfortunately the condition for a long and incredible sustain.

Finally a licensed vibrato JACKSON FR: the JT580LP (one of the best on the market which is well agreement trs, trs flexible it allows many fantasies).

Gnrale in violin making and finishing trs are clean, and we come to ask you again the United States JACKSON Made to justify such a price.

This is a guitar that can leave indifrent the first contact was really imprssion have on hand a guitar directly MASSIVE cut in a tree.

    UTILIZATION

The neck is fast trs, has its own despite a slip coating ass pais (neck-through requires). I have also an Ibanez S with a varnish trs end, and I must admit that I do not slip better (I have yet many years, and the passage on my Jackson does not pos but absolutely no problem).
The handle is trs enjoyable use and allows all sorts of acrobatics (for the fans Vai or Satch).

Access in acute is simply incredible, probably the best of the CATEGORY. In box 1 24, it's like a F1 track. One could even with a comfortable ride insoupsonne boxes 25 26 27 ...

As an Ibanez RG, ergonomics is similar. Sitting is stable and comfortable trs.
Standing, it is a sturdy strap prvoir avoid the guitar do falls directly on the foot.

The sound of the Seymour Duncan is heavy and hot, like me a Gibson with a prsence incredible.

    SOUNDS

"Jackson has for the Mtal?" Not!

TB4 in the bridge is trs agrssif, singing great for rhythmic Hard Heavy Trash (for the most "brutal" I think it is necessary to change the microphone). Alone, it is enjoyable and allows trs inroads in many styles (still distortion of course): vintage or modern. In résumé with this micro there is not court of his or ides.

The SHR101 (double simple format) allow the hot and heavy: the sounds are clear trs INTERESTED more than one regard. It really brings the sound GIBSON. The configuration of the microphones did not allow a home split of microphones, you can not have a really slamming her fawn FENDER.
For light or against a Blues crunch, the classical or Jazz Jazz Rock, this guitar can do and will get noticed.

In conclusion, guitar Mtal: Yes, but with some flexibility (to SHR101 d) dsagrable not at all.

    OVERALL OPINION

This guitar can be dtach style GIBSON FENDER IBANEZ impossible.

The violin is impeccable, and the report quality amazing price.

She directs Mtal (but not Bourrin) Yes, but by adding a Split (for SHR101), it will be easy to move from the hot and heavy and even fat (fat but can be ever draft) and a slamming his lens.

Imagine a guitar of muscle in acute and neck + middle sound is heavy, hot or slamming. It's been a nice versatility.

The Seymour Duncan pickups are irrprochables Made in America, and can address many styles with confidence.

This is a guitar that is not in the lace, body weight and are large for the recall, but it will leave no indiffrent. One likes or dtest!

    New updated features for 2006

Jackson Pro Soloist SL3Published on 07/24/11 at 22:34
The SL3 got a few updates around this time, and I noticed they tend to be a bit more solid than the previous years for whatever reason. The guitar has the following specs:

Alder body with a veneer for certain finishes
    Neck-thru maple neck
Rosewood fretboard with 24 jumbo frets
    HSS configuration
    Licensed floyd rose bridge
    5 way switch
    sharkfin position inlays
    master volume, master tone

    UTILIZATION

The first thing that I notice is that the upper fret access on these neck-thru models is wonderful. You can easily reach the upper frets without any issues at all. The fretwork is pretty decent on these. The ends were nicely rounded so they don't cut your hand while moving up…

    UTILIZATION

The first thing that I notice is that the upper fret access on these neck-thru models is wonderful. You can easily reach the upper frets without any issues at all. The fretwork is pretty decent on these. The ends were nicely rounded so they don't cut your hand while moving up and down the neck, but the frets could use a bit of a level. I noticed some fretting out when bending on the higher frets, and it was a bit of a pain when I started lowering the action. The floyd rose on this is decent, but I recommend replacing it with an original floyd rose if you can spare the extra few bucks. I find that they feel a lot better than the one that's installed on this.

    SOUNDS

The guitar has actual Seymour Duncan pickups installed in it. The JB in the bridge can be a bit bright, but it depends on how much you like bright tones. I find that I tend to like brighter guitar sounds, so it suited my style for that shred 80s kinda sound. The SH1N in the middle is pretty useless. Even in the 2 and 4 positions, it was just so hot that it didn't really lend itself to getting a good clean tone. The SH1N in the neck is awesome for leads. In fact, it's one of my favorite single coil humbucker neck sounds. However, the clean tones are a bit dismal, so keep that in mind.

    OVERALL OPINION

The real Duncans that were installed in this are a wonderful addition to the SL3. They really make this guitar come alive. I've seen these for awesome prices on Craigslist, so I recommend searching there or eBay first to find the best deal on these. I also recommend replacing the floyd, but it's your call.

I walked into the local music store and saw this guitar. I always wanted a neck-thru Jackson, and they gave me a great deal on this guitar since it was a floor model. They might have changed since I bought mine, but this one had a licensed Jackson floyd, 24 frets a rosewood fretboard, maple neck and alder wings. I don't remember the neck or middle pickups, but the bridge was a Duncan JB. It had your typical five way blade switch with a volume and tone knob.

    UTILIZATION

    UTILIZATION

The guitar was put together alright. The fretwork wasn't the best, and the floyd was pretty trashy. I was never able to get the action I wanted out of the guitar. The neck-thru construction allowed for great access at the higher frets, and the sharkfin inlays gave it that signature Jackson look.

    SOUNDS

The sound of the guitar was average. Back then, I was more concerned about playability than anything else. The JB was fairly bright in the bridge, and everything just seemed to scream "budget." I never use the middle pickup, but the neck wasn't too terrible sounding. I think I later replaced it with a Hot Rails, but I can't remember.

    OVERALL OPINION

Jackson is becoming a bit less relevant in today's market place. ESP and Ibanez are taking up the budget superstrat market where as Suhr is really soaking up the higher end market. Keep in mind that I'm not really a fan of neck-thru guitars' tone today, so I'm basing my opinion off of that. I also never bothered replacing the bridge pickup, which might have been a good idea. The floyd was just total trash, though. The fine tuners were awful, and the thing was made of pot metal. I think they might have fixed this on the newer revisions, but I'm not 100% sure.
