Overall I have yet to find anything wrong with the American Special Tele. It's got everything I look for: quick neck, great tones, speedy action, good design and pretty looks. It does everything I ask and more and it's hard for me to even put it down once I've picked it up and started noodling up and down the neck. A really fantastic effort from...
The Fender American Standard Telecaster would be a good introduction to the line if you are unfamiliar with Fenders. The feel and tone of the guitar is greatly superior to the lower cost models offered by Fender, accurately representing the craftsmanship that fans of the brand have grown to love. The American Standard fetches $829 new. There are...
The TE202 suffers from inconsistent production. At the new price of $350 one could justify some upgrades to make it more of a player's guitar. However, with the Gretsch Pro Jet at this price used and the Squire Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom hanging a mere $20 dollar above, you might be better served forgetting about it. In either case, I strong...
What I like the most is how good it looks. But it also sounds pretty darn good too. I've never quite been at home with the feel of a tele, but it's something I tolerate. I guess I'm just more of a les paul kind of dude. The value for the price I think is pretty good. Obvious play it before you buy to make sure you don't get a dud.
If you aren't super picky about your thinlines like I am, this is a well priced and very fun guitar. You know how some guitars just say "take me out and play me?" This is one of those guitars for sure. Nobody else is really making good thin line reissues right now so in my opinion this is the best one.
While this guitar is cheap, it doesn't suffer from some of the typical problems that you see with cheap guitars. It has very low action and absolutely no fret buzz, and not sharp/undressed frets. The bridge intonates perfectly, and the tuners, although they feel cheap hold tune well. I bought this guitar as a mod platform, and i...
Not only is this a great looking guitar, but it is a great feeling instrument. To me, that is what matters most. Fortunately it sounds good too. I never thought I would end up buying such an unorthodox design. Especially not a guitar that was probably meant for blues and not pop rock stuff that I play. But for cleans and light overdrive it ...
The stock pick-ups and bridge as well as the aesthethics will scare any self respecting Tele player off. That said as a back-up this guitar certainly was worth the $250 I paid for it. The neck has a nice medium C shape and flat boat so it sure is a burner. It hold the tuning well despite the low end hard ware. The one down side is...
These guitars are very well-built guitars that sound good night after night is getting as well as any recording session. You can find the new for right at around $900-$1100 or so on the new market. You can you find them pretty frequently any use classified section of many online forums classifieds. You know when you get one to be a great...
Overall, this guitar is a winner. But the S-1 switching is unnecessary bulk that just raises the price of the guitar. I'd rather pay $50-100 less for the same guitar minus the S-1. It really is a good axe, it just doesn't need this fancy switching. It's a Tele!
