«  The Fender clean but not that ... and 14kg please! »

Published on 10/06/14 at 13:46
The Blues Junior is a single channel tube amp with reverb springs and a boost called "fat" can be activated via footswitch (optional). There are several limited editions FSR (Factory Special Run) that play on the finish (tweed, tolex color, paint the cabinet, type of wood ...) and HP delivered (Eminence, Celestion, Jensen ...). I fell on Black Version Paisley which is equipped with an HP Emminence Red Coat Governor.

I also tested the FSR version of "Stealth" which is equipped with an HP Eminence Cannabis Rex that sounds good too. Reserve capacity is impressive for 15W amp is clean and even (very) high volume. With a strat, we can play without problems with a drummer and use pedals for distortion. The sound will start to crunch a little faster with a fully equipped guitar humbuckers (Les Paul) but playing on the attack and volumes, the amp is doing very well.
It will be dubbed into the sound system if you plan to play on stage with a clean sound. Crunch, you can (almost) do without sound as the amp can send.

To play at home, no problem: it is enough to go molo with the master but it may be too hard for those who live in condos with cardboard walls ...

UTILIZATION

Not need the manual to use this amp. Oddly based on EL84, this amp delivers superb cleans the Fender. Used up to 4 or 5, the reverb is really flateuse. Beyond that, it starts to get a little too pronounced pure ego but it can work in the style of music you play.

To play SRV, it's prime. The clean and crunches issued by that amps are superb. It will not try to play metal with less than to stick a distortion pedal with this type of gain.

The feature is nice fat AND usable. It boosts the midrange and helps to place them in the mix for a solo tackle or an edgier chorus. The purchase of the optional switch is inevitable if you play in a group with this amp.

SOUNDS

After selling my MesaBoogie lonestar special (too bulky and HEAVY), I looked for a compact amp with which I can play in groups. The Blues Junior has really impressed me. The cleans are great and playing with the gain and master volume, grain SRV is approached very easily. The background noise is almost nonexistent, nothing to do with the Pro Junior I sold pronto. The buzz was unbearable.
If there are a lot of changes applicable to Blues Junior, know that it is used on, especially if you opt for a version with an HP that sticks in better with the style of music you play.

Blues, rock, country, pop are covered without problem. For hard rock and metal, have to use the pedals. Unless you play the old with a crunch you doserez with the volume on your guitar, there's a good bet that you will use this amp clean with your favorite effects. There is no effects loop will do so without ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for a few months at home and I plan to play it for my next concert.
I love the warm sound of this wonder and above its weight. 14kg is shit! In addition it fits easily into the trunk of a car and you can even imagine carrying a suitcase with wheels on the subway to go to his next concert or repeats.
In a bar or small room, it will be sufficient to itself and will not need to be transplanted.
Some say I have paid dearly finish black paisley (+ € 170 compared to the basic version), but if the look and HP Governor choice I would do without hesitation.
After leaving the salon covered its cover (optional itself too), I found DEHOUSSE beside the couch as my wife finds class-)

Like the Fender sounds, do not need tremolo and two channels? You prefer a portable solution that allows you to play at home and on again / concert? So go try this amp, you are likely to come away with.
