UTILIZATION

The setup is super simple, super light manual! one can easily find a good sound but the sound palette is not large, difficult to dig a special sound! This is his big, fat and round then we can put more bass or more treble but the sound remains more or less the same grain
Level of use is very simple

SOUNDS

I do a lot of hardcore or thrash suddenly the sound is just perfect for me! on the other hand if you are looking for clean sounds, you just give up and go to a mesa amp as versatile ...
I play with a guitar ESP Eclipse, maxon tube screamer and ISP decimator noise gate. Some say that there is nothing original in my set but I think I am very happy! The sound of the amp without fat is TOO much bass and very loud (feedback etc) suddenly I think this amp power supplied sourtout what is normal by looking at the price, it is therefore essential to buy a noise gate in more. Isp decimator with it is just a treat! the sound is perfect even no hi gain feedback!
I really prefer more noisegate use a external amp noisegate engl powerball kind that has a noisegate internal médiocrissime.

I hesitated between this and ENGL Powerball head and I regret my choice after testing both! the ENGL is just too cold, if you want a bold and very heavy croum croum of worship where one feels good lamps, this amp is for you!
PS: I have a tube screamer that accompanies my head because thanks to him I can get this sound palette and just dig a reduced fat sound of the amp with treble more pronounced thanks to the screamer, a marvel if you have this amp that has changed my life

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and I still do it again this choice as easy to use unlike a Mesa sound is really very big and bold as I like + screamer I can find the sound between 6505 and ENGL basic So with this amp if you want we can!!

its weak point is its strong point for those who seek simplicity and his big, fat and very HOT

This amp head is perfect for music on the edgy side of rock For me, it's hardcore and metal is perfect for grain incredible distortion caused by the 9 lampes.Dommage the 6505 can not do without an equalizer for fine tuning and a noise gate for a recurring problem breathing. OVERALL OPINION

I have for about 5 months and I am delighted.
I love the saturation of the amplifier and its gain incredible.
Before, I played on a head Line 6 Spider 2 HD 150, I bought 2 years ago and a half for its versatility and price, but I was tired by the coldness of the transistors. I vowed that if I changed my amp one day, it will be for lights and it's done.
The value for money is unbeatable, because at that price (just under € 1100) gives access to a tube amp hi-gain high-quality made-in-US
If it again, I do it again this choice without any hesitation ...

- Will it fit your style of music?
I play Death Metal with my band, and the sound suits me perfectly!

- With what (s) guitar (s) / low (s) or effect (s) do you play?
I play on a Jackson KV2 equipped with EMG 85/81, the sound is really good, much better than my BC Rich Bronze Warlock.

- What kind of sound you get and with what settings ("crystalline", "bold ",....)?
Is obtained very quickly from saturated fat. In fact, there are two channels, the pace and lead.
I use the saturated pace for a rhythm a bit in the bass, it sounds really good and palm mute ... Mmmhhh what fun! It can take clean, but need not be an idea, it sucks! You come away from clean, but that's all, after a little chorus to help beautify all that, but when you take this beast is well and truly to the metal!
Otherwise, the lead, I use one makes you stronger for solos or leads just hairy. What I appreciate with this lead is that much of the spring mix, the sound is considerably more drilling but remains in the spirit of 6505.

- What are the sounds you prefer, you hate?
Personally, playing on the home peavey 5150 cabs, I appreciate everything that comes out. My guitar has a Peavey VK, and it's night and day, knowing that we try to see the difference by putting everything on twelve o'clock, my amp sounded much better in his (the price change, too )

- What is so special that you like most and least?
The sound is really the best point of this beast. The design is both aggressive and finally all the taste but I greatly appreciate! The least would be the weight ... Although heavier than the head of my guitar (peavey VK). There is also a small breath, but I do not put in default, he personally does not bother me, in concert and transplanted, it does not interfere in the mix. on the other hand, with 5150 cabs, I can tell you in concert (at the music festival, to say) I was 3 / 10 3.5/10 pace and volume in lead, with two front speakers of 700W each just for voice. Power level in dB, you will be served!

- Have you tried many other models before buying it? (As head tube)
A Marshall, I found the sound really shit, too ... marshall too whereof, I have a transistor and I made a few chords, I almost cry, I wanted more.
Peavey JSX A (I think), so there was good sound too, but the price was a little larger and it was after my purchase, but I admit that I might be hesitant
An H & K (I do not remember the model), where I found the saturation a bit flat, nothing to do with the 6505
A model ENGL I know what (you take thomann, 3850 to the euro, something like that), there was a multi-effects when I had to try a friend, so it distorts the result, but it sounded to hell.

- How would you rate the quality / price?
I think 750euros (bought used) for a head of this quality, it's really not expensive at all. I think that level quality / price ratio, we can not do better.

- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Without hesitation. I would conclude this short note, this amp is used by:
In Flames, Ensiferum, Neaera, Arch Enemy (at the time), Machine Head, Dark Tranquillity, Kataklysm, Aborted ... What big names (and many others) Death Metal scene and just for that, it is a guarantee of quality!

Peavey is one of those companies that provide affordable guitar gear for the budgeting musician who wants pro quality gear. The more I start listening to Peavey amps the more I start to love them. Peavey has taken a strong position on the metal market. This amp is a heavy duty metal amp capable of giving you some sizzling tones.

This amp unlike the 6505 + or Plus amp doesn't have separate EQ's for each channel. That is really the only difference in the two amps. The 6505 amp has a shared EQ between channel one and channel two. This limits the ability to have two differently EQ channels from one another. If it were me I would pay the extra $200 and get the 6505+ just for future in case I ever needed it.

I used all kinds of guitars with this thing to make it sound good such as Strats, Tele, LP's, Wolfgang and even a Rickenbacker. Nothing could make this thing sound natural. This amp needs to be played with a humbucker pickup guitar such as a Gibson Les Paul or a Gibson Explorer. It needs that rock guitar for the gain style this amp produces. You can play any guitar single coil or humbucker but I think it sounds the best with the proper high gunner pickup.


OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come in at around $999 online and most brick and mortar guitar stores. This is a great price for this amp. You can get a lot for this kind of money but you sure can get a stellar sounding Peavey amp.

I would recommend this amp to anyone needing to stay within a tight budget and needs a proper sounding metal or hard rock amp. This is a great amp for anyone needing a solid amp for any gigging or garage playing musician.

This amp comes from the tone of the 5150 amps that Peavey did years ago with Eddie Van Halen. This is basically the exact same amp but with a few minor tweak from over the years. This amp is a beast of an amp. You can get some serious tone and balls with this amp.

This amp is a very forgiving amp but still has the tightness to use low tunings for modern music. The 6l6's compliment the tone for this amp as well which gives it more of a low end thump than you would get from El34's. This amp shares the same EQing for the rhythm and lead channels which the + has each their own EQ's.

Some of the bands that rock this amp are 3 Doors Down, Ted Nugent, Atreyu, Steve Morse, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Visqueen, God Forbid, HIMSA, Darkest Hour, Sworn Enemy, Unearth, and Spades and Blades.

I would recommend this amp to anyone needing to stay within a tight budget and needs a proper sounding metal or hard rock amp.

No more 10 seconds to understand what each has knob.

The sound is not directly need to search for hours to find a sound

powerful distortion, but watch out for its clear you'll have to look
