Paracosm introduces its upcoming Lumen, a semi modular « analog » video synthesizer that will be released this summer for Mac OS X.
Lumen uses sound synthesis capacities to create visual effects and animations in real time.
The GUI shows three oscillators, an envelope, a mixer, two signal processors, one LFO, a transform section, an RGB splitter, a master and an external control section. All the sections feature connector so you can use virtual cables to route the signal according to your needs. A Snapshot XY pad is also available.
Lumen supports MIDI controller mapping, it also offers a Syphon input and output to interact with other video apps. A webcam input and a full screen output will serve for creating feedback loops and it will also be possible to route MIDI notes and CCs to the back panel.
